As you will be well aware I am a huge jewellery fan, and I have a particular penchant for statement necklaces. When a package dropped through my door containing some pretty pieces from Kiss FM Breakfast Show DJ Charlie Hedges’ Festival collection for Sparkling Jewellery, I fell in love instantly. I have been wearing the necklace and hairband constantly, and I also have a ring and a bracelet to give away to one of my followers too. Stay tuned until the end of the post, and enter via the Rafflecopter box.

The Charlie’s Festival House Necklace (£24.95) is such good quality. It is a heavy gold-toned piece with beautiful mint green stone and ribbon accents.

I also think the Charlie’s Festival Charming Brow Band in Gold (£14.95) is so pretty. It has cute little dangling flowers and diamantes, and is the ultimate in hippie-chic.

I also have a Charlie’s Festival Angel Ring (£12.92) and a Charlie’s Festival Love Bracelet in Black (£8.95) to give away to one of my followers. To win these two items, just enter via the Rafflecopter widget below…

I love cream formula blushes in the Summer. They leave a dewy, fresh-faced finished and are easy to apply. I feel they have better staying power than powder blushes too, as the cream formulas often contain stains that you’d need a scrubbing brush to get off instantly.

I wanted to share with you the top 5 cream blushes that i’ve been enjoying this Summer. Tweet me with your recommendations too! The make-up bag you see is my brand new Sew Lomax Black Lipstick Pouch, that I had personalised with my name embroidered on the back. I love it!

Right To Left

This is such a pretty sheer pastel pink. It gives just a delicate flush of colour, so it’s perfect for fair skin like mine. A little goes a long way with this as the liquid is very watery (which makes it a dream to blend too).

Right to Left

This is definitely a cheek stain- once you’ve applied it, this stuff isn’t budging for a long time. You need to blend quickly. It’s a gorgeous coral colour, and smells deliciously fruity.

Kiko Water Blush in Berry Sparkle
I can’t find this on sale anywhere sadly. It was a present. It is such a great cream blusher with a strong colour that blends easily. You don’t need much to get a beautiful and natural flush of colour.

This is a velvety-soft, almost fluffy in texture, cream in a pan. It is highly pigmented and glides on, so it’s easy to apply too much. Start with blending just a little, and then build up until you reach the colour level you need.

This blush is a pink and coral mix with a highlight. It comes in a twist-up stick form, and you apply it in a circular swirling motion along your cheek; building up as much intensity as your desire. It’s so easy and fool-proof, and leaves you with a healthy-looking and shimmering Summer cheek.

This new eye palette from Little Mix for Collection goes on sale this week on 30th July, and it’s surprisingly good. I don’t usually rate these teen-aimed celebrity make-up ranges (i’m thinking of you One Direction); but this All About The Eyes palette has some great shades.

From left to right, the colours are Feather (shimmer), Sunkissed (shimmer), Golden Sand (shimmer), Dazzling Brown (shimmer), Cocoa Dream (matte), Blackbird (matte). The shimmer shades are quite well pigmented for the price (£3.19), and blend well with minimal fall-out. I found the matte shades however to be rather chalky with quite a bit of fall-out. Four good neutral shimmer shades for £3.19 is good value though for anyone on a budget.

My skin is so fair that the first shade Feather’s swatch just won’t pick up on camera. These swatches are just one swipe of the shadows- I haven’t built them up, so you can see what they are really like.

I was invited along last week to try John Lewis’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games pop-up Tea On The Green, which has been set up in a stylish tented area on Royal Exchange Square.
This pop-up experience is free to the public, and allows you to enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea while watching the Commonwealth Games action on their big screen. A lot of the spots have already been booked up online, but they have a number of drop-in spaces available each day if you want to try your luck and pop along.
The afternoon tea is delicious, and there is a wide choice of complimentary drinks- including raspberry cordial (which I enjoyed), tea, coffee, fruit juices and water. I found the smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwiches particularly delicious, along with the gooey chocolate brownies.
It’s amazing that John Lewis are providing all this for free, so if you are able to get a space, it’s well worth it. It’s a good way to browse and try out lots of the homeware and furniture from the store too, as the pop-up been kitted out with John Lewis’s finest wares.

I popped into the refurbished Tesco Silverburn for some food and ended up being enticed by their gorgeous new homeware department and its current sale.

My favourite purchase is this large mint green candle lantern that was reduced from around £12 to just £2.50. For my kitchen, I picked up three cute little faux-flower pots in a wicker tray for £4.50 (which I love), a set of pretty pastel measuring spoons (£2.50) and pastel glasses for just £1 each.

I also got a cute wooden shabby-chic door sign (£1.75) that says ‘please do not disturb’ on one side and ‘yes please to breakfast in bed’ on the other, plus Lindsey Kelk’s new novel What A Girl Wants for £3.85.

There are so many other things I want. I’m loving Tesco Home right now.

Cult make-up bag designers Sew Lomax recently launched their I’m Sew British collection with cute London cab and London bus designs. The next to launch is this British seaside-themed Beach Huts Postcard pouch.

I love the bright and cheery design on the front, and the fact you can personalise the back (if you want) with your own postcard message. It would make a great gift for your holiday housesitter.

It’s available for £25 from Sew Lomax

The House of Fraser Glasgow store was the launch pad for this, now UK wide, luxury department store brand.

As i’m sure you can’t have failed to miss, Glasgow is hosting the Commonwealth Games this week. As part of the Homecoming Scotland 2014 celebrations, House of Fraser Glasgow are hosting pop-up concessions for 5 local womenswear, menswear and accessories designers.

Each designer (Karen Mabon, Rebecca Torres, ten30, Strathberry of Scotland and Georgia Wiseman) have created exclusive designs to be sold only in House of Fraser Glasgow until 4th August. Get down there asap to snap up the likes of this pretty Karen Mabon Glasgow Scarf (£55), of which there are only 150 available.

I went on a trip to London for the day with my friend Adrienne from The Sunday Girl blog to do some Christmas In July press days- The White Company, Wilkos & Pegasus PR.

The displays got me feeling all festive, and I can’t wait to share my favourite Christmas product releases with you later in the year.

We also managed to fit in dinner at Five Guys (my first experience), and some mocktails at the Benefit Cosmetics’ World Cup pop-up pub Gabbi’s Head.

In Five Guys I had a Little Cheeseburger with Little Fries- more than enough for one person, and despite the bottomless soda machine having over 100 varieties, I opted for a good old Diet Coke.

At the very pink Gabbi’s Head pub I had my eyebrows waxed and tinted for a £5 donation to Refuge, and my favourite Benebabe Claire (Benefit’s Events Coordinator) treated us to yummy raspberry mocktails- as we weren’t drinking due to the lengthy train journey ahead of us.

After London, I took a week’s holiday from my blog, digital magazine, freelance writing commissions and social media, so that I could relax and clear my head, and I baked some deliciously-rich chocolate fairy cakes, which were gone by the next day.

Urban Research Experiments With Virtual Changing Booths In Japan (Business of Fashion) - Japan is always at the forefront of gadgets, and I love what technology can allow us to do now; but can anything ever be better than actually trying a garment on properly? Online shopping makes things easy for us; but you must have lost count by now of the number of returns you’ve had to make because they didn’t fit. If you’ve gone to the bother already of leaving the house and being in the shopping mall, you may as well try the item on- these virtual booths seem like a waste of time and money to me.

Aromatherapy Associates are a favourite of mine, as their powerful scents really do relax me and improve my wellbeing.

The latest Aromatherapy Associates product that i’ve been using is the De-Stress Massage and Body Oil (£26 from Feel Unique).

The De-Stress Massage and Body Oil is the perfect bedtime treat. I apply it to myself (after inhaling the scent with a few deep breaths) on my shoulders, chest, and on the back of my neck. The scent really lingers for a long time and helps me drift off to sleep.

The oil has a handy pump dispenser which makes it mess-free to apply. It contains Arnica Flower and Lavender to relax, plus Rosemary and Ginger to support healthy circulation and ease tired muscles. The smell is beautiful and very potent- just perfect to fall asleep lathered in.

Now the sun is finally staying out and we are actually getting a Summer, i’m loving the neon trend. Adding pops of these acid brights to an outfit is really eye-catching, and makes me feel cheerful.

New Look have a great selection at the moment in their plus-size Inspire collection. I’m a size 18 in New Look, and I love what their plus-size range offers. I’ve put together my favourite items in gorgeous electric shades for you…

As i’m sure you’ve seen from the many photos I post online, I usually always wear dresses with leggings (it’s a leg confidence thing), so shorter tunic dresses have become my best friend- longer than a top; but not too long that they look stupid with the leggings underneath. Plus, our unpredictable weather in Scotland suits this look down to the ground.

1. £29.95 | 2. £74.95 | 3. £79.95 | 4. £29.95

I’m just loving these casual tunic dresses from Joules at the moment, and want them all. I’d love to hear or see how you would wear them, so drop me a tweet!

This wonder-product from cult favourite Soap & Glory tackles lower body cellulite by firming and smoothing the skin on your bum and thighs. What makes this unique, however, is that the powerful ingredients are optimised and put properly to work only when you sit down. So, if you spend most of your day sitting in-front of a computer like me, this is for you. The product is dispensed as a gel via cooling and massaging rollerballs, and the slow-release active ingredients of PINKPEPPERSLIM-LIPO-FB and CAFFIENE spheres cause a warming and tingling sensation as they work. I’ve been using this twice a day for a few weeks, and have definitely noticed firmer skin and improved texture.

Bio Oil, £9.15

I just adore this product. It has long been a favourite of pregnant women everywhere to tackle and prevent stretch marks, and was never something I had thought of trying. However, since losing weight (and previous yo-yo dieting), the skin on my upper arms is bumpy and covered in stretch marks. I decided to have a try of Bio Oil. I wasn’t expecting much to be honest; but it has blown me away. It’s not a quick fix; but gradually improves skin texture and diminishes stretch marks slowly over time with its PurCellin Oil ingredient. I’ve been using it just on my upper arms, twice a day, for a month and have definitely noticed that they are firmer and smoother, with the stretch marks becoming less obvious. I’m happy with the results so far, so i’m going to keep persevering with this. The fact it has that gorgeous sun tan lotion smell is great too.

This is a good add-on treatment to the Soap & Glory Sit Tight 4D, to use once a week. You get three sachets, and each sachet has enough for two applications; so not bad value at all. It comes as a powder which you then add water to to mix into a mud-like paste. It’s very thick and combines seaweed with Dead Sea Mud. You leave it on until it dries hard, and it firms skin, smooths texture, nourishes and reduces fluid retention. Results are immediate, so it’s great before a night out as it’s a real confidence booster.

Last Thursday, I went to the store launch party for the new Kiehls Glasgow branch- the largest of their stores in Europe. It looks amazing, and is spread out over two floors; one of which has a permanent free photobooth.

Yasmin took charge of the DJ booth, and cute whisky cocktails from Auchentoshan were served in mugs.

It was so busy at the event, so I can’t wait to go back and have a proper browse of this Buchanan Street store.

I also got a screen cleaning stylus for my gadgets. It has a rubber stylus point on one end, and a small push-down spray on the other end which squirts anti-bacterial cleaning solution onto your gadget screen. You then just wipe with the specially-made soft side of the stylus. My phone’s touchscreen is always covered in make-up or chocolate fingerprints, so this is a great product if your screen is always grubby or if you lend your phone to someone else to make calls a lot. I keep the Cyber Clean Stylus (£9.99) in my handbag as it cleans brilliantly; but it’s a bit too wide and cumbersome to use as a stylus unfortunately.
