I can't believe it's nearly May- my birthday month! The weather is really starting to brighten up (although I did hear reports of rogue snow yesterday) and I'm getting into the summer spirit. I've been loving several beauty products throughout April, and as usual, I have rounded them up in a monthly favourites post for you.

I've been trying out the range of sheet masks from MaskerAide* (£5 from M&S) recently and I wanted to share two of my favourites with you- they are the perfect party prep and party repair solutions. If you have a big night out planned, pick these two masks up and thank me later.

I had such a lovely Sunday lunch a few weeks ago with some blogger friends at The Trading House in Glasgow. The whole experience was so Instagram-able, so I wanted to share the photographs I took with you. They had the most amazing live lounge singer too that sounded flawless like a produced track.

It's not often that I feel compelled to sit down and write a spontaneous personal post, but I'm feeling strangly sentimental at the moment for my school days, so I thought I would tell you about them and what they meant to me. I hope that this will help someone who is finishing up at primary school and worried about moving up to high school, or who is currently at high school and not enjoying it.

I had a delightful digital detox in a country cottage last week. I spent four days by a log fire eating chocolate and drinking red wine. Today I'm back blogging and I'm bringing you a look inside the April 2016 Look Fantastic #LFBLOOMS box* (monthly subscription from £11.25 at Look Fantastic).

When intu Braehead asked me to share my SS16 hero piece with you, it had to be a kimono. My kimono collection is continually growing as its such an easy piece of clothing to wear, but can make a real style statement at the same time. They are perfect for people like me who don't want to show off the flabby section at the top of their arms and are low in body confidence. Due to extreme stress in my life recently, I've put on well over a stone again, so I'm not feeling my best. As well as being incredibly chic, my kimonos are great cover-ups for hiding lots of the bits that I don't like about my figure. I also love the fact that they go with just about everything and are the perfect companion to my black legging obsession.
This one is from New Look last year (there is a store at Glasgow's intu Braehead shopping centre) but they always have such an array of different designs for sale. Other stores at intu Braehead also have some fabulous SS16 kimonos- here are the ones to pop on your shopping list...
New Look Rust Crochet Trim Flutter Sleeve Kimono | Dorothy Perkins Viila Large Floral Kimono | Evans Black Bird Print Kimono | M&S Classic Floral Kimono Top | H&M Kimono | River Island White Embellished Sheer Kimono | New Look Mela Cream Bird Print Kimono
If you live in Glasgow, intu Braehead have some great fashion events this spring- the centre is filled with pretty flower-covered boxes that will host various SS16 activities and events around them- everything from pop-ups to talks and fashion shows. On 30th April, the centre is hosting a fashion show at the intu Style Garden on level one, where models with be showcasing the key SS16 fashion trends using pieces from the intu Braehead retailers. If you aren't in Glasgow, your local intu shopping centre will also be hosting events up until 1st May, so check their site for details.
This is a sponsored post with intu Braehead, but all opinions are my own.

Oh man, I LOVE this eye mask. I think it might be the best I've ever tried- not just because of the results, but because it forces you to take some serious time out due to its lack of eye holes. The Sephora Instant Depuffing Eye Mask ($6 from Sephora) is a serious rest for your peepers.

It struck me today that I must have written about 30 different posts and features on SS16 fashion across the various publications I write for, but have only focussed on day wear. I've neglected all of the beautiful party dresses and evening gowns that are out there at the moment. I saw some stunning pieces at the Debenhams SS16 press show and lots when I've been out on shopping trips in places such as Quiz- I've just not had anywhere fancy enough to go recently to make me purchase one. There are less formal or glitzy evening occassions at this time of year compared to Christmas, but if you have a wedding or a prom to go to, I hoped that rounding up some of my favourite dresses from the high street would help you out.

Happy April everyone! For this month's giveaway, one winner will win a Replay Stone For Her Eau de Toilette (worth £40), a red Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Colour Lacquer (worth £17) and a Mylee Crystal Nail File (worth £6).
The Replay Stone For Her fragrance, from denim brand Replay, takes its inspiration from the denim fabric washing technique 'stone washing', where the denim gains a worn and faded appearance. This fragrance aims to embody these feelings of experimentation and innovation. It has top notes of bergamot, orange and mandarin; base notes of sandalwood, cashmere wood, amber, vanilla, tonka bean and musk; and a heart of orchid and almond blossom. The fragrance launched at the end of 2015 and has a stunning purple carved stone-like bottle.
All you need to do to enter is follow the Rafflecopter instructions below. The giveaway is open to UK residents only and will close at 11.59PM on Friday 29th April 2016. Good luck!
