It’s always nice to shake up your perfume collection once in a while, as you get stuck in a fragrance rut by wearing the same scents constantly in rotation. I’ve recently added three new perfumes to my collection, so I wanted to introduce you to them. Some of them are entirely predictable for me, but one is a bit of a wild card.Lancome Idôle Eau de Parfum*** – £85 for 75ml, Lancome

This is a rose-based fragrance, so, of course I love it! It’s a gentle, tender, elegant fragrance that’s very feminine. It has been created on the premise that every woman is an idol, and is centred around the rose scent as that was the brand’s first symbol.

The bottle is just the most stunning perfume bottle that I’ve ever seen. It is one of the slimmest fragrance bottles in the world, at just 15mm thick. It was designed by the acclaimed Chafik Gasmi, who wanted to create a bottle that resembles a precious jewel, and that can be taken anywhere in the world. The bottle’s glass is so thin that it appears like the fragrance is floating. It can also lie flat, fit in the palm of your hand and be slipped easily into a pocket.The scent smells like freshly-picked roses. It’s a delicate scent, but still impactful. There is essences of rose absolute and rose water, jasmine, and a background of patchouli and white musk. Lancôme pride themselves on being transparent about where their ingredients are sourced from.They are ethically sourced give back to farmer communities. The roses are from Turkey, created exclusive for Lancôme and are hand-harvested. The jasmine comes from India and is also hand-harvested.

Top: bergamot essence. Heart: rose essence, rose water, jasmine infusion, jasmine absolute. Base: patchouli essence, cedar essence, vanilla essence.Madmoiselle Rochas Couture*** – £65.99 for 90ml, Fragrance Direct

Rochas is a brand I hadn’t heard of before this fragrance, but how cute are the bottles?!?! The Mademoiselle Rochas line launches in 2017, to create fragrances for the chic and vibrant French woman, who so many people want to be.

Mademoiselle Rochas Couture is the newest fragrance from the brand. It’s an attractive sent – both aesthetically and as a smell. It’s charming, floral and feminine, and is more heady that the lighter Lancôme fragrance. Mademoiselle Rochas Couture is designed to evoke the elegance of Paris at night, so it makes sense that this would be a deeper scent that the other two fragrances I’ve talked about in this post. For me, the deep sea of the scent comes from the inclusion of one of my favourite fragrance ingredients – Tonka Bean. You’ll also pick up woody notes in addition to this.

Top: pink pepper, pear & bergamot, Heart: orange blossom, lily-of-the-valley & heliotrope, Base: tonka bean, sandalwood & musk.Clean Reserve Solar Bloom – £82 for 100ml, Space NK

This brand have strict green manufacturing practices. They are very eco-conscious, and their ingredients are ethically-sourced. They too give back to their farmers communities. There is Vetiver from Haiti, and the partnership gives educational and medicinal help to the farmer communities. There’s also green mandarin from small, local farmers in Brazil. No pesticides are used and the mandarin oil is extracted using traditional hand-pressed techniques.

Solar Bloom is a very clean, fresh and sharp fragrance. It’s not what I usually like, and it’s definitely more of a day scent. This fragrance was inspired by the beauty of dawn and early mornings. There are citrus florals and also an earthy tone to the fragrance. It’s all about nature.

Top: bergamot, green mandarin, freesia. Middle: orange blossom, jasmine petals. Base: charcoal, cedarwood musk, coconut water, vetiver.

A smaller 10ml travel spray is also available for £20.
