A couple of weeks ago I went to the Edinburgh launch of Benefit’s newest primer- Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer. Benefit’s Head Make-up & Trend Artist Lisa Potter-Dixon explained how the product worked over some Proseco and canapes.
The packaging design fits with the rest of the simplistic and monochrome Flawless range, and the primer itself is in the form of a solid twist-up stick rather than Benefit’s previous liquid primer offerings. It looks like it has a beige pigment in it, but it actually goes on transparent; so suits all skin tones.
If you are a fan of Benefit primers already, this one doesn’t replace them, as they all have a different purpose. Porefessional is for minimising pores and smoothing your skin’s surface, and That Gal is a primer to brighten and illuminate your complexion. The newest, Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer, is designed for longevity and to make your foundation stay put all day.
It contains what Benefit are calling ‘make-up magnets’, and the primer must be applied in a circular motion to unlock them. When you then pop your foundation on top, it will ‘attach’ to the primer and stay put for as long as 15 hours.
Now, I haven’t tested it out for 15 hours; but I have had it on with Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation for over 8 hours, and my make-up has stayed a lot more intact after that time than it has with any other primer; so if you hate having to redo your face every afternoon, this is the primer for you.
The formula is non-greasy and just sinks into the skin, and the handy stick means no wastage and no mess. Perfect!
