I was invited along last week to try John Lewis’s Glasgow Commonwealth Games pop-up Tea On The Green, which has been set up in a stylish tented area on Royal Exchange Square.
This pop-up experience is free to the public, and allows you to enjoy a complimentary afternoon tea while watching the Commonwealth Games action on their big screen. A lot of the spots have already been booked up online, but they have a number of drop-in spaces available each day if you want to try your luck and pop along.
The afternoon tea is delicious, and there is a wide choice of complimentary drinks- including raspberry cordial (which I enjoyed), tea, coffee, fruit juices and water. I found the smoked salmon & cream cheese sandwiches particularly delicious, along with the gooey chocolate brownies.
It’s amazing that John Lewis are providing all this for free, so if you are able to get a space, it’s well worth it. It’s a good way to browse and try out lots of the homeware and furniture from the store too, as the pop-up been kitted out with John Lewis’s finest wares.
