I was sent a gorgeous red rug for Valentine’s Day by online rug retailer Modern Rugs, and asked to style it in my home. The exact rug I received can be bought here for £29.99.

When I opened it, it was so soft and fluffy that I just wanted to roll about on it. I couldn’t think for a better use for this beautiful rug than having a romantic at-home Valentine’s Day picnic on it. This is definitely something you could easily re-create and do yourself for Valentine’s Day; instead of going outside in the cold for a dinner date.

All you need is a soft and fluffy rug, some delicious cocktails or wine, rose petals for decoration and some yummy food- I opted for iced lip and heart sugar cookies and the obligatory packets of Love Hearts sweets. Finally, light some candles and get cosy.
