This is a brand new launch from Bare Minerals, and I love it. It won’t hit stores until April, so if you are planning on picking up a new foundation, BB cream, CC cream or tinted moisturiser, hold your horses until then.
I list all of these types of bases, as the new Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (that’s a mouthful) is indeed the best of all of these formulas. It provides a brilliant light coverage, is incredibly hydrating and evens out your skin tone too; all whilst protecting you with built-in SPF.
This is literally my dream Summer base product. As you’ll know if you’ve read this blog for a while (or just happen to glance at the popular posts list to your right), I also love Bare Minerals’ Bare Skin foundation for it’s lightweight breathable and build-able coverage (see my review here). I’ll still continue using this in the colder months, or on days when I need more coverage; but the new Complexion Rescue Gel is my new Summer saviour- when I apply it, it has a great dewy and youthful finish, and doesn’t look like I’m wearing anything at all.

Luckily I normally benefit from having clear skin, as yes, the coverage from the Complexion Rescue Gel is very light indeed. It covers and evens out skin discolourations and patchiness brilliantly; but not large blemishes or acne. So, if you suffer regularly from these, I’d recommend their Bare Skin foundation instead, as this is more of a perfecting product.
The Complexion Rescue Gel is also a brilliant moisturiser. You feel it instantly hydrate your skin as soon as you apply it, and it continues to do so throughout the day. They have proven a 215% increase in skin hydration after just one week of use. I find it a real treat for my skin as it contains no chemicals, no oil and no fragrance; plus the mineral-based SPF 30 protects me from harmful UV rays. There is also a natural anti-oxidant in there (heart-leaf globe daisy) to protect against modern environmental stresses.
The Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream comes in 10 different shades to suit all skin tones. I am using the lightest shade Opal 01. Will you be trying this out when it launches?
