Recently, clothing brand and catalogue Kaleidoscope asked me if I wanted to take part in their #GlamYourMum campaign by dressing my Mum in an outfit of her choice from their website. Immediately, a thought struck me- this will only be fun and useful if I take the choice away from my Mum and style her myself. So, in an attempt to inject more colour and current trends into her wardrobe, I decked her out in a surprise outfit. I’m rather pleased with the results.

I wanted something with a bold floral print and bright colours, so I chose this beautiful silk-effect top (£35). It has a flattering and baggy cut with an elasticated waist, so would suit all shapes and sizes.

I then worked with the colours of this top to choose the rest of the items. 

These silver and pastel blue shoes (£29) are flat and comfortable, whilst being stylish (with cut-out sides) at the same time. I actually love these so much that I am ordering myself a pair- just as long as we don’t wear them on the same day!

I fell in love with this pretty bag (£35) as soon as I saw it, and will definitely be borrowing it. It is a sturdy, boxy cream boucle fabric bag with silver hardwear. I was careful to stick with silver because of the shoes, as I hate mixing silver and gold.

I also chose these cute pastel blue sunglasses (£29). I thought the silver dragonfly detail on the side went well with the floral garden theme of the top. I may be borrowing these too. Finally, to finish the outfit off, I put her in jeans (£19) to add a casual element to it. The floral stitching detail on the back pocket continues the overall theme, which I love.
