I’ve been testing out these two new French skincare brand gel cleanser releases. Both the Vichy one and the La Roche-Posay one contain their own thermal spa waters and retail for the same price; so I wanted to do a comparison post for you and let you know how i’ve got on with them.
Vichy Purete Thermale Cleansing Gel, £12
This cleanser is so refreshing and smells divine. It cleanses and soothes the skin with Vichy Thermal Spa Water; which has great anti-inflammatory properties. It’s suitable for all skin types and gets rid of (and protects the skin from) impurities and pollutants with its unique Purisoft complex of Amilite, Glycerin and Moringa. It very slightly foams when rinsed off, but it’s definitely not a ‘foaming cleanser’. I love how clean this makes my skin feel after use. It does remove make-up well; but i’d recommend a double cleanse with a micellar water if you are wearing a lot.
La Roche-Posay Make-Up Remover Micellar Water Gel Cleanser, £12
This one is really cooling and has such a nice slippy texture. Again, this is suitable for all skin types; even the most sensitive. It contains La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water, which is very soothing and protects skin from daily pollution. It doesn’t irritate skin as it respects the skin’s physiological pH balance. This cleanser is better at removing make-up (due to its micellar water technology); but doesn’t have the gorgeous scent that the Vichy one does.
I really like both of these gel cleansers, and they are so similar. However, I do prefer the experience of using the Vichy one as it just feels and smells nicer to me. You can purchase both of these cleansers from www.escentual.com and they currently have a 1/3 off French skincare promotion running.
