MY TOP 5 RED LIP COLOURS

July 31, 2015 in BEAUTY, Uncategorized

    Best Red Lipsticks

There is nothing better at times than a statement red lip, so I wanted to share with you my current top 5 red lip colours. There are traditional matte reds in the round-up, along with high-gloss pencils and liquid lipsticks. Definitely something for everyone…

Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipstick in Bold Red, £21, Debenhams

This is a traditional pink-toned matte red- a real retro shade! The formula of this is really creamy, moisturising and easy to apply too. It also contains vitamins A, C and E to really soothe your lips as well as beautify them.

Makeup Forever Rouge Artist Natural in N45 Red, £16, Debenhams

This one looks very red in the bullet, but is actually a lot more pink-toned than it at first seems. It is a great choice if you want a sheerer and less opaque red lipstick with a soft sheen. When on, it has the look of a very pigmented lip balm, so is a frequent daytime pick for me.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Icon, £23, Space NK

This liquid lipstick is very slick and very pigmented. It’s quite a thick formula, so one coat is all you need. It’s a deep berry-toned red. I love the colour and look of this, but it does need a lot of touch-ups to keep it looking flawless.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella, £19, Space NK

I first discovered this shade after Lily Pebbles recommended it. It’s a stunning scarlet-toned red that is matte but without looking dry. The formula is creamy and doesn’t highlight dry areas on your lips. It is incredibly long-lasting too and doesn’t go patchy.

Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lipcolour in F-Bomb, £14, Debenhams

This is one glossy lipcolour, in a classic tomato red. It has the ultimate shine factor and is incredibly pigmented. This stuff is so difficult to remove once it’s on too- it just won’t budge. Again, the formula is very creamy and easy to apply. You only need one swipe of this to be completely opaque too.

    What’s your favourite red lipstick?
