I’m so excited that I am going to have a whole new bathroom in time for Christmas and all those Lush bath bombs. My bathroom is being entirely remodelled in just a few weeks’ time and I can’t wait. You will get a full bathroom tour blog post as soon as it’s done.
Since I am going through the process at the moment, I was asked by bathrooms.co.uk to share my bathroom remodelling checklist with you to pass on my tips. Firstly, before any work starts, you need to choose everything that you want- from flooring to wall tiles and bathroom suites. You will need to decide on a colour scheme and a general mood– do you want a very modern bathroom full of clean lines and sleek shapes or do you want one that’s vintage inspired with gilt accents and a roll-top bath?
I’ve chosen a very plain and simple bathroom suite and colour scheme- lots of cream and white and classic shapes. I’m going to accessorise it in a very ‘shabby chic’ way at the moment; but the basic design will allow me to redecorate it and completely change the feel of it easily.
You will also need to decide on what you want in the room. My bathroom is not big enough for a seperate bath and shower and I 100% prefer baths, so I’m opting for another wall-mounted shower unit over the bath. Accept and work with the space that you have. I also know (being a beauty blogger and journalist) that I need a lot of storage, so I’ve optimised the space to include as much as possible on the walls and on the floor.
Once you have decided what you want, you then need to choose and hire a team to fit it all. Unless you are a qualified builder and plumber, I would not recommend that you try any of the work yourself. Leave it all to the experts and just prepare yourself for a week of noise and dust. Once everything is in place, it’s time to accessorise. Think about art work, soap dishes, toilet roll holders and towels, so that you can pull your whole desired look together and get the bathroom of your dreams.
