I discovered the brand Elizabeth Martin Tweed and their amazing creations earlier this year (and I featured them on my blog here). A couple of weeks ago however, I watched the woman herself collect an award at the Herald Online Fashion Awards 2015 and I developed a bit of a girl crush. I was at the awards as a guest of Love Your Clothes– the organisation that aims to eliminate fast fashion and encourage the upcycling and mending of your garments.
Scottish designer Elizabeth Martin was by far the best dressed of the evening, wearing her own new lace Florrie Skirt & Shorts (£230) and Florrie Lace Top (£125) over a black bra. She looked stunning and showed how revealing clothing can be worn elegantly and beautifully.
She won the award for Best Sustainable Online Business as her company uses sustainable Scottish fabrics, such as Harris Tweed and Scottish Lace, to create incredible luxury garments that are designed and manufactured in Scotland. I just had to write a post to share my love for this brand and for Elizabeth’s own awards style. Swoon!
