I am obsessed with tv shows and my favourite thing to do is to binge-watch my favourites. When Freeview Play asked me to share my recommendations with you, I couldn’t wait to spread the love.
You all know by now that I love my soaps, and in the lead-up to Christmas they get very exciting. If you don’t already watch Coronation Street (ITV 1) and Eastenders (BBC One), you simply must start! I never miss an episode and this is always my favourite time of year for storylines.
This winter, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! (ITV 1) brings a welcome escape from the cold British weather. A group of celebrities take to the Australian jungle to survive on rationed food and complete terrifying challenges. The line-up of people isn’t always great, but you do start to like watching everyone if you persevere. This year, Most Haunted host Yvette Fielding, ex-Dragon Duncan Bannatyne, Made In Chelsea‘s Spencer Matthews and the ‘unique’ (trying not to be sued here) boxer Chris Eubank will be in the outback for the show starting on 15th November at 9PM.
Talking of Made In Chelsea (Channel 4), it’s another of my recommendations. After their stint in LA, the gang are now back in their London stomping ground for the current series of this ‘reality’ show. We are just three episodes in, so it will be easy for you to catch up if you haven’t started it yet. This is very entertaining, light-relief viewing about friendships and relationships, with lots of predictable lies, fights and affairs filling every episode.
Finally, if you want some more drama after all that frivolity, you must check out Homeland (Channel 4). This is one of my favourite TV shows of all time and we are currently a few episodes into the fifth season. It’s a gritty US drama about terrorism and the CIA that never fails to disappoint. This is a show that you really need to watch from the beginning though, so head out and grab the season 1-4 boxset immediately.
