I love compiling my monthly beauty favourites and it’s time for another one. Here are all of the products I’ve been relying on all October.
Scottish Fine Soaps Company Au Lait Milk Bath Powder, £13.95, www.scottishfinesoaps.com
I have added this to every bath I’ve had this month. It has a bit of an artificial perfumed fragrance that I’d prefer wasn’t there, but it is incredibly moisturising. It makes lovely creamy white bubbles in your bath, so it really is like bathing in milk. I love the milk churn packaging too- it looks really pretty on display.
Vichy Dermablend Corrective Foundation, £13.50, www.boots.com
This very full coverage concealer has been great for me as my jaw breakout has finished healing. It hides everything (offering twice the coverage of a traditional foundation), but is still very moisturising, lightweight and blendable. It is also very long-lasting- not the 16 hours it claims, but you can go through a whole work day without having to re-apply. I really like this foundation as it has great skincare properties too- it contains the famous soothing Vichy Thermal Spa Water that’s rich with minerals and offers an added SPF of 35.
Me Me Me The Ultimate Eye Palette in Soft Rose, £15, www.mememecosmetics.com
This palette has such beautiful muted shades that are perfect for autumn days. As with most palettes, the brushes that come with it aren’t great; but the shadows themselves are very creamy and blendable. There’s a great mix of matte and shimmer shades for creating a smokey eye too.
Liz Earle Lavender & Basil Hand Repair, £21, uk.lizearle.com
Yesterday I featured this relaxing scent from Liz Earle in candle form (here), and I’ve been enjoying it as a hand cream just as much. It has quite large packaging for a hand cream; which doesn’t make it as portable as I would like, but it does have a very handy pump dispenser. The formula of this is very thick, but is absorbs so well. It is the least greasy hand cream that I have ever tried- all it does is leave your skin feeling very plump and soft. There are so many great natural ingredients in there too- moisturising and protecting Vitamin E, the anti-inflamatory Echinacea, toning hops, skin texture improving Beta-Carotene and moisture sealing glycerin. It keeps my hands feeling amazing.
Sleek MakeUP Candy Tint Balm in Bon Bon, £6.49, www.sleekmakeup.com
Yes, I’m raving about ANOTHER Sleek MakeUP product, but I literally can’t get enough of this brand. These are such great every day tinted lip balms- they give your lips a delicate hint of colour as well as keeping them hydrated and protected them with SPF 15. Bon Bon is a perfect glossy ‘your lips but better’ shade. These balms have moisturising and hydrating Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E in them, along with Vitamins A and C for enviromental protection.
