If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you may remember that last year I organised and hosted a beauty blogger sleepover with Benefit Cosmetics (you can read about it here). This year I did it all over again, in a new location with new brands and a fabulous Christmas theme. I decorated the room with lots of festive decorations from Wilko- they make some great pieces- along with cosy red hot water bottles from Edinburgh Woollen Mill and knitted stockings stuffed with beauty goodies from Arran Aromatics. Add in a Spotify Christmas playlist and we were all set for a perfect night.
We stayed at the beautiful luxury Grand Central hotel in Glasgow. They went above and beyond and treated Beauty Aesthetic, Miss West End Girl, Little Blog of Horrors, Glasgow Beauty Blogger and I like princesses. They brought trays and tray of wonderful food to our room including truffle and parmesan fries, a tower of macarons and seared scallops with pea puree. We were suitably stuffed and so disappointed that we weren’t able to finish it all. To drink we had lovely Cava from our friends House of Fraser and rum cocktails made using incredibly easy Funkin Cocktail mixers.
We had to leave room however, for the stunning cake creation made for us by the stylish Three Sisters Bake. They made us their Salted Caramel Beast cake that had a wonderful chocolate sponge with caramel buttercream and thick caramel sauce poured over the top. There was even a pretty and tasty arrangement of toffee popcorn on top. It tasted amazing! I would thoroughly recommend Three Sisters Bake if you are looking for a special occasion cake, as they produce nothing short of a masterpiece every time.

We decided that we were all going to wear matching onesies, so we got these in a different animal each from Tickled Pink Fancy Dress. They have the cutest hood faces and tails. I was the giraffe and I love him. They are Kigurumi Onesies (£37.99) from Japan and are incredibly comfortable.
After our dinner, cake and lots of chat, we calmed down a bit and settled in to watch a movie. We switched from alcohol to Diet Coke– my favourite beverage in the entire universe- with chic limited edition J.W.Anderson-designed bottles. We also snacked on chocolate treats from Thorntons Chocolates. Their Little Temptations range features more cake-like creations as opposed to the chocolates they are traditionally known for. I adore their Mini Caramel Brownie Bites (mini brownies topped with a layer of caramel and coated in milk chocolate) and their crunchy milk chocolate cornflake clusters.
At the end of the night, I sent all the girls off to their own rooms in the hotel with a goodie bag from House of Fraser, a set of They’re Real miniatures from Benefit Cosmetics plus a Christmas gift set from Arran Aromatics. We also had a ‘best Instagram’ competition won by Ayden with this little gem of her as a pink unicorn at the hotel’s front door- she got some extra treats including slipper boots from Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
If you are planning a visit to Glasgow or live here and just fancy a treat, I would definitely recommend the Grand Central Hotel. They currently have a great range of festive vouchers that can be used for everything from stays, to dinner at their Tempus restaurant who provided our food, to afternoon tea or a drink in the Scottish Hotel Awards 2015 Bar of the Year, Champagne Central.
We all had a fabulous time and are sad it is over!
