My December Beauty Favourites post went up yesterday, so now it’s time for my fashion and lifestyle favourites. It’s a real mixed bag- from the informative to the cosy and practical. So varied, that I couldn’t fit them all into the one image like I usually open my favourites posts with.
Dita Von Teese Your Beauty Mark Book, £17, www.amazon.co.uk
This is one weighty tome- I wouldn’t want to drop this on any toes. This is such a beautiful book and is a must for any lover of classic and vintage makeup looks. The photography is stunning and Dita shares all her beauty tips- from how to apply the perfect foundation application to keeping those brows groomed. This is the sort of coffee table book that you can just opened at any page and be inspired by.
Ilex London Black Sophie Grab Bag, £205, www.ilexlondon.com
If you follow me on Instagram or have read my latest The Scotsman column, you’ll have seen me rave about this handbag already. It has barely been off my arm all December, as it’s small enough and chic enough to be suitable for parties, but large enough to store all your essentials. I like to think that I look like the Queen when I have this hooked on my arm, but I also like wearing it with its detachable crossbody strap for a more casual feel. It is made from the most beautiful textured leather with shiny gold hardware, and it has lots of handy compartments inside. Swoon! My Mum is modelling it here in these photos, incase you thought I somehow miraculously managed to shrink my waistline over Christmas instead of needing to let my trousers out by an extra few inches.
M&S 12 Golden Millionaire’s Shortbread Bites, £4, Marks & Spencer
There’s not much to say about these other than that they are delicious and that I’ve consumed two boxes over the festive season. They are chocolately (and it is gold sprayed chocolate- what more could you want?!) and they have a very thick and generous layer of caramel which is exactly what I like.
Gap Slipper Sweater Socks, £14.95, www.gap.co.uk
One of the gifts my blogger friends got me for hosting the Christmas blogger sleepoever (yes, you guys Miss West End Girl, Beauty Aesthetic, Little Blog of Horrors and Glasgow Beauty Blogger) was this pair of thick, cosy, non-slip Scandi print socks from Gap. I adore them, both for their comfort and for the warm fuzzy feeling they give me at having such amazing blogging buddies.
Printed Storage Bags, £4.99, www.flamingogifts.co.uk
Finally, all the lugging around of Christmas presents was made easy this year with these pretty storage bags. These have made quite a few trips over the Christmas holidays, ferrying gifts to and from friends and family. Now they are taking up residency inside to store the vast amount of bedding we have. They are really sturdy and both have a really cute print on them- they make for a much more visually appealing option than plastic crates.
