I have been wanting to try this mask for a long time as so many bloggers and YouTubers have raved about it. I finally picked up a miniature version from Sephora, but I wish I had gone for a full-size one as I adore it.
The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask (£39.50 for 150ml from www.cultbeauty.co.uk) definitely lives up to the hype for me, and thoroughly deserves its cult status. The mask is brown-y orange in colour and has a gritty texture. You apply a thin layer to your skin, massaging it in with wet fingers as you go. This gives your skin a good exfoliation from the micro-polishing aluminium oxide powder. The mask smells quite strong- of pumpkin and cinnamon- but I quite like the scent.
This mask tackles so many skin concerns- it combats dullness, removes congestion, tackles blemishes, diminishes fine lines and just makes skin look a whole lot more healthy and alive. It dries on your skin in an orange-tinged transparent layer after leaving it on for three to seven minutes. It can aggravate sensitive skin due to the amount of active ingredients it contains, so how long you leave it on will depend of the level of ‘tingliness’ it produces. It didn’t bother my skin at all and I was able to leave it on for the full seven minutes.
This mask has enzyme, chemical and physical exfoliants in it to resurface the skin. When I remove the mask my skin is softer than I have ever felt it before. It also feels incredibly clean and smooth- the natural pumpkin enzyme extracts gets rid of dead skin cells and you get a peel effect from the alpha hydroxy acids it contains. My skin also glows and has a lovely even texture and appearance from the AHAs and the aluminium oxide crystals that stimulate circulaton and polish the skin.
This transforms my skin instantly like no other mask has done before. It is the perfect product to use before an event or a night out, as your skin will look amazing. Now I need to buy the full-size pot!
