I am loving these new New Look Pure Colour Pure Gel Longwear Gel Polishes (£3.99 from www.newlook.com). I’ve never thought about trying any of New Look’s beauty offerings before as I didn’t expect much in terms of quality, but these polishes have blown me away. The formulas are amazing and they are a bargain price too.

They have released five colours and a top coat, and I’ve been playing the top coat and four of the shades. I think the colour options they have gone for are great as they aren’t season specific and can be worn all year round. These polishes are so easy to apply and are sunlight cured- the brush size is perfect and even if your application looks streaky, the polish fuses together as it dries to look flawless.

You could definitely get away with just one coat, but to darken the colour and increase the shine, apply two before the top coat. They last on me for six days chip-free and for someone who’s polish usually looks worn after two days, this is great. They have a great shine to them, just like professional lamp-cured gel polishes, but there is no soaking with tinfoil needed to remove them- just use regular accetone-free remover and a cotton pad.
