I’ve been trying out some cocktail recipes that I found on the internet for Valentine’s Day, and I wanted to share the results with you.
The first cocktail I made was a Strawberry Quick Cocktail from Mix That Drink. It’s inspired by the taste and look of strawberry Quik powder- something I’m sure we have all made a milkshake with at some point in our lives. To make this sweet and milky drink you’ll need 1 1/2 ounces of Strawberry Schnapps, 1 ounce Baileys, 1/2 ounce of Grenadine and some milk. Shake them all together and pour into a cute glass or bottle.
Next I tried out the North Mymms Mirage Recipe from Drinks Mixer. For this you need 2 shots of Pimms, 2 shots gin (I used Bombay Sapphire), 1/4 pint blackcurrent squash (I skipped this ingredient as I was using blackcurrent flavoured Pimms- genius!), and 1/2 pint of lemonade. Just stir the ingredients together as they are fizzy, then enjoy. It’s sweet and bitter at the same time.
Finally I made and enjoyed a Chambord Vodka Lemonade by Chambord– it’s fizzy, sweet and fruity. You need 25 ml Chambord Liquer, 25ml vodka, and lemonade to taste. For this I also made some red and pink sprinkle heart ice cubes which adds some extra sweetness to the drink as they dissolve. They look pretty in a transparent drink too.
Will you be trying any of these drinks this Valentine’s Day?
