People Make Glasgow asked me to share my cosy at-home pamper night routine with you and gave me a giftcard to get all the essentials for it from the city’s St. Enoch Centre. What’s great about Glasgow city centre is that you can decide at the last minute to treat yourself- over 220 stores are open until 7pm every weekday, with some extending this to 8pm on Thursdays. This makes it so easy to pop to the shops after a hard day at work.
What’s a pamper night without chocolate? I headed straight to Hotel Chocolat to pick up a VAST amount of yummy fruity truffles- their Eton Mess Truffles & White Chocolate Mango Truffles (£3.85 per Selector 6-pack) are some of my favourites as they’re sweet and zesty at the same time. I also got some magazines from W.H.Smith to relax with next to a scented candle.
On my late-night shopping spree I also got myself a book when I was at W.H.Smith- Love Tanya by YouTuber Tanya Burr is full of great beauty tips and baking recipes. On a pamper night, I like to take some time away from tech to really unwind.
I also like to use lots of beauty products on a pamper night to really look after and nourish my skin. Glasgow’s St. Enoch Centre has a Boots as well as a The Body Shop, so you’ll never be short of options. The Body Shop’s new British Rose Collection that launched for Mother’s Day is beautiful. It has pretty pink packaging and a delicate rose scent that’s very relaxing. I really recommend the British Rose Body Butter (£6) for a pamper night as it’s very thick and luxurious, and makes my skin really soft. Their British Rose Instant Glow Body Essence (£15) is great to finish off with too as this lotion has a pearlescent finish to give skin a radiant glow.
As well as body care, I also really amp up my facial skincare routine on a pamper night as I find the process very calming. The St. Enoch Centre has a Debenhams with a Benefit Cosmetics counter- it’s definitely worth stopping by there to pick up Benefit’s new Porefessional Instant Wipeout Masks (£24.50). These are small fibre sheet masks for the nose, forehead and chin- the typical pore and blackhead problem areas. You apply the smooth side to your skin for ten minutes, before removing and rubbing the skin with the textured side. These clear out my pores and exfoliate my skin to leave it very soft and smooth.
Comfy pyjamas and cosy socks are some more of my pamper night essentials. I’ve now added a soft dressing gown to this list as I found this lovely cotton star print one in BHS for £22. It’s dark blue to hide all my chocolate and beauty product stains! BHS is the best place to shop for nightwear as the range is so huge and the prices are so affordable.
Towards the end of the night, I like to wind down for bed with some crafting and the TV. You can get great DVDs at HMV and W.H.Smith, as well as an enormous collection of craft supplies from This Works. I find having something to do with my hands that’s creative stops my mind wandering to work-related matters.
