I wanted to share with you what I did for Mother’s Day as I think it looked really pretty and would make for a great birthday or Easter treat too. I made my Mum a DIY afternoon tea at home, with tea, champagne, cakes, biscuits, scones and sandwiches.
The champagne I chose was Lanson as it’s one of my favourites. I used cute 200ml mini bottles- you can get a set of six for £69.99 from Just Miniatures. For our tea, I chose the beautiful Earl Grey blend from Crabtree and Evelyn (£4)- it’s made from Indonesian leaves and has a lovely hint of citrus.
We had delicious scones from Wholefoods with clotted cream & raspberry jam and Crabtree & Evelyn Tarocco Orange Marmalade (£3.95). I got the marmalade in a fantastic set with orange shortbreads for £9.50. I also picked up some fresh berry mousse cakes and vanilla macarons from Wholefoods too.
To decorate the table I used a plain white tablecloth sprinkled with faux crushed spring flowers (£ from Hobbycraft), colourful resin flowers (£1 per pack from The Works) and faux pearls. I think it turned out brilliantly and the only thing that beat the joy of looking at it was eating the cakes!
Will you be trying this for an upcoming celebration?
