I am completely in love with this year’s summer makeup collection from Elizabeth Arden. Everyone raves about their Eight Hour Cream, but I think that their makeup offerings are often overlooked and I don’t understand why – their products are always great quality and in beautiful packaging.
The limited edition Elizabeth Arden Sunset Bronze Collection* contains three lip glosses, a bronzer and an eyeshadow palette, and they are all amazing. The Sunset Bronze Prismatic Bronzing Powder (£28 from Elizabeth Arden) is beautiful. It’s a shimmery bronzer, so I just use it round the edges of my face, and on my neck and decolletage. The light-diffusing gold shimmer particles are very finely milled – they give a beautiful natural golden glow to the skin and soften the appearance of fine lines and imperfections. There’s also Vitamin E and Argan Oil in there to stop skin from getting dry.
The Sunset Bronze Prismatic Eyeshadow Palette (£25 from Elizabeth Arden) is a stunning mix of purple, pink and golden shades. They all have a long-lasting, shimmery pearlescent finish; are really creamy and pigmented and have literally no fall out. There are mica-based pearls in the formulation to reflect light for a multi-dimensonal effect. When you wear these shades, they are almost jewel-like.
Finally, there are three beautiful shimmery lip-glosses. I wouldn’t normally wear anything as sparkly as these, but there is something about them that makes me love them. I think it’s the fact that the shimmer is again so finely milled and that there are multi-dimensional pearl particles in there – it makes your lips look super-glossy and fuller instead of glittery. There are three shades of the Elizabeth Arden Sunset Bronze Prismatic Lip Glosses (£18 each from Elizabeth Arden) – Sunset Kiss (a gold), Moonlight Kiss (a purple-toned irridescent) and Midnight Kiss (a deep pink). The formula of these isn’t at all sticky and feels very nourishing on the lips – there is Aloe Vera to hydrate in the formula, as well as Vitamin A, C and E to protect and soothe.
Do you have your eye on any of the collection?
