Paul Mitchell is one of the most respected names in haircare and I’ve been trying their MarulaOil range over the last few weeks. There’s a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and hair oil (plus some styling products that I haven’t tried) that all contain Marula Oil – the powerful oil that’s quickly overtaking Argan.
Marula Oil comes from African Marula tree kernals and it’s said to contain 50% more antioxidants (which protect again environmental agressors) than Argan Oil, plus a huge amount of omega fatty acids (which promote hair growth and add shine) and other nurtients. The Marula Oil used in this Paul Mitchell range is extra potent as it’s cold-pressed to preserve the quality. The products all feel incredibly luxurious and I can’t even begin to tell you how nice they smell – it’s one that I can’t describe except to say that it’s that perfect ‘salon scent’.
This range is designed to hydrate, repair and moisturise your hair and if you use all of these four products in conjunction with each other, there are some amazing proven results – an 80% reduction in split ends, an 80% improvement in hair condition and 80% more shine. The MarulaOil range has a unique time-release technology which means that its benefits are released throughout the day to keep your hair nourished and hydrated – it works by their exclusive ‘MarulaSpheres’ adhering to your hair strands like a magnet, so that bursts of goodness are delivered everytime you touch your hair.
The MarulaOil Rare Oil Replenishing Shampoo* (£21.95 from salons) and the MarulaOil Rare Oil Replenishing Conditioner* (£23.95) smooth, soften, hydrate and nourish the hair (as well as clean it obviously). They are sulphate-free and so enjoyable to use. My hair always feels incredibly clean and soft after using these and I have noticed a really good reduction in the dryness of my hair over the weeks I have been using them too. The MarulaOil Rare Oil Intensive Hair Masque* (£31.95) has also hydrated my hair so much since I damaged it during my hair colour experiments last Christmas. I’ve noticed that my hair feels a lot stronger too – this mask seals split ends, prevents damage, delivers intense hydration and provides UV protection.
The other product I’ve been trying is the MarulaOil Rare Oil Treatment* (£33.95). Marula Oil is also great for skin, so this product is designed for both – I’ve been adding a few drops of this non-greasy oil to my body butter or body lotion for extra conditioning. In haircare terms, add a few drops to dry ends to prevent frizz, or rub a few drops between your palms and slide over the surface of your hair for an instant shine boost.
Have you tried any of these products yet?
