Up until this haul, I had only tried a ColourPop Lippie Stix, so I was desperate to get my hands on some of their Super Shock Shadows and Ultra Matte Lips to see what all the hype was about.
MyUS kindly invited me to try out their service for free and also bought me the products that I wanted too. MyUS is a service where you are assigned your own US shipping address – meaning that you can order from all US stores, not just the ones that offer international shipping. MyUS then ship your orders to you, packaged safely. What’s also amazing about MyUS is that you can order from multiple different stores, have them ship to your dedicated address at MyUS and then group them altogether to ship to you in one package. You could literally order one item from ten different stores – something you couldn’t afford to do if you were having to pay for international shipping (and then customs charges) from each.
From ColourPop I ordered 9 of their much-Instagrammed Super Shock Shadows and 3 of the Ultra Matte Lips liquid lipsticks. I am so impressed – the quality of these $5 and $6 products are amazing. The eyeshadows are buttery soft, INCREDIBLY pigmented and have great staying power – honestly some of the best I have ever tried, and amazing value for the drugstore price. The Ultra Matte Lips are so pigmented and last so well, even when eating and drinking. They are quite drying on the lips and I got quite paranoid that they were flaking off my lips when I was eating, but they really weren’t. They just take some getting used to, but are definitely worth the perseverance.
The 3 Ultra Matte Lips ($6) I ordered were (left to right) Bianca (a ’90s brown), Koala (a vibrant purple-pink) and Bumble (a rusty red). I find it best to apply these in two thin layers, letting the first one dry before applying the second – this way you get an even, opaque finish and it makes the lipstick last longer too.
I wanted to try out a good mixture of the Super Shock Shadows ($5) shades – bright and nude, shimmer and glitter. The first 3 shades I ordered were Fringe (a metallic light gold), Acorn (a shimmery nude salmon pink) and Alchemy (a full-on glittery champagne). I think Alchemy is my favouite of all the shadows I ordered – it looks amazing in the inner corners and just really brightens up the eye. It sparkles so much too.
The next 3 shadows are blues – Etiquette (a metallic navy blue), Krinkle (a glittery teal) and Sugar (a shimmery light blue-grey).
Finally, I ordered Bae (a two-tone glittery dark purple with blue glitter particles), Dare (a shimmery bright purple) and On The Rocks (a metallic bronze).
In total, I ordered $100 worth of products (from two different stores). My shipping was a premium FedEx option that arrived in a couple of days – around $48 – and I got £25 in customs charges. There are so many different shipping options however, if you don’t want to pay this much or don’t need your package this quickly.
What would you recommend I try next from Colour Pop?
