Good morning! Yesterday we had an incredibly hot day and I struggled to sleep last night in the heat. This morning, I’m writing this in a thunder storm. If you’re paying for the heatwave yesterday with shocking weather today, fear not, as I have the Look Fantastic tropical-themed July Beauty Box* to brighten up your mood.
Subscriptions to the monthly Look Fantastic Beauty Box start from just £11.25 per month, and until the end of the year, you are getting the latest Elle magazine with every box too – total bargain! This month the box is all about summer and it has a great line-up of products in it.
The first item in the #LFSUMMERLOVIN box is a deluxe travel-size bottle of the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Or Dry Oil in Golden Shimmer (full size is £16.15 from Look Fantastic). This oil looks so pretty across your decolletage on a hot sunny day. As well as adding a pretty bronzed shimmer to your skin, it also moisturises it too – it contains a blend of 6 plant oils and Vitamin E to give you lovely soft skin. I love this and it smells very summery too.
Next, there is a deluxe travel-size sample of the cult This Works In Transit Camera Close-Up (full size is £30 at Look Fantastic). This is a mask, moisturiser and primer in one, that is perfect for taking on board a flight with you to keep your skin hydrated and looking alive. It contains hydrating and moisturisng ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid and Starflower oil, and it also contains caffeine to get rid of signs of fatigue and make your skin look more radiant and awake. If you want to put your makeup on afterwards, this acts as a great primer too.
There is also a miniature sample of Kebelo’s Silk Anti-Frizz Cream Serum (full-size is £32 as part of a set with two other products) in the box. You apply this to towel-dried hair and it smoothes hair fibres to give you silky, smooth locks. It also contains ingredients such as Argan oil to add shine, Quinoa and Amaranth to nourish and repair, and using this cuts down the amount of heat you need to style your hair. Intense heat from the sun and the Chlorine in swimming pools can really dry out your hair, so this will help look after it and keep it looking sleek.
The first of the makeup items in the box is a full-size Bellapierre Cosmetics Cheek & Lip Stain (£12.99 from Look Fantastic). This cream to powder product is such a pretty colour (it only seems to come in this one shade) and it blends out really nicely, but I find the formula a bit too drying on the skin and lips. It’s oil-free so you are literally getting no moisture from this at all.
There is also a deluxe sample of one of Benefit Cosmetics’ brand new brow products in the box – the one I think you got free if you bought Elle magazine last month. The Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil (full size is £18.50 from Look Fantastic) comes in shade 02, which is one of the lightest. I use shade 06 in the new Benefit brow collection, so this isn’t a shade for me. It is a great eyebrow pencil however – it offers 12-hour waterproof wear and has a fool-proof shaped tip to allow you to draw in precise hairs and fill in your brows easily. If you don’t usually do anything to your brows, this is a great product to start your brow-grooming journey with.
Finally, there are a set of three cute and handy Invisibobble dupes in the box. The MITI Professional Hair Ties (£4.95 from Look Fantastic) are designed to tie back your hair without leaving dents in it that regular bobble would. The smooth plastic also helps to stop snagging and pull too. I like these and more hair bobbles are always good to have, as they are a bit like socks – they disappear somewhere, never to be seen again.
