One of my favourite steps in my makeup routine is creating a flawless and glowing base. I’ve been loving a few different high-end foundations recently, so I wanted to share them with you. All of them leave my skin looking beautiful and have great staying power.
Smashbox, Dior, YSL
Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation, £29, Boots
I have shade 1.1, the lightest in this new oil-free foundation, but it is still ever so slightly too warm for my skin tone, however I can definitely work with it. I have incredibly pale skin and it’s hard to find foundations light enough. The formula of this foundation is lovely – it gives great coverage and blurs imperfections, but feels light and comfortable. I have dry skin and this leaves it looking and feeling hydrated. This is a medium coverage foundation that you can build up to full coverage and it lasts all day.
Dior Diorskin Fluid Foundation SPF 35, £33, Boots
This is my favourite of the 3 foundations and it matches my pale, cool-toned skin perfectly. The formula and coverage of this is simply amazing and it is the best foundation I have tried in a long time – possibly even beating my love for the By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Foundation! This is a real full coverage foundation, but it still looks incredibly natural. I find it best to apply this with a damp beauty sponge as this just makes it feel like a second skin. It has a matte finish, but it stills makes my skin look luminous and healthy. It covers every imperfection, reduces pore visibility and it lasts all day. I love that it has an in-built SPF too.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Foundation, £32.50, House of Fraser
I have this foundation in shade B10. It matches my skin tone really well, but is a bit more warm-toned, so it just serves to warm my skin up a little. I love the YSL Touche Éclat concealer pen, so I really wanted to try the foundation to see if it gave me the same radiance. It does! It really gives me a lit-from-within glow and makes my skin look really youthful and healthy. This is a full coverage foundation, but it looks really natural on the skin. It lasts all day and feels weightless and comfortable all day too.
I really recommend that you try all of these foundations. Have you experienced any of them yet?
