I’m heading to the hairdressers on Wednesday to get a hair transformation, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to need to involve bleach again. I’ve been repairing my hair slowly for a year now, following an at-home bleaching disaster, so over the last few weeks in particular, I’ve been making sure that my hair is as strong and conditioned as it can possibly be before going to the salon. I wanted to share wit you the few products that I’ve been relying on.
Tangle Teezer Compact Styler in Purple Dazzle, £12.25, Tangle Teezer
It’s amazing the amount of hair that normal hair brushes pull out of your head when you switch to a Tangle Teezer and start to notice the difference. This is my handbag hairbrush and it means that I can brush my hair throughout the day without putting any stress on it or causing any breakages – due to its innovative plastic teeth at differing lengths that can easily diffuse tangles. The Compact Styler comes with its own cover so that you don’t damage the teeth, and I love its ergonomic design too as it’s so easy and comfortable to grip.
Invisibobble, £3.75 for 3, HQ Hair
These bobbles are made of coiled plastic and you can tie your hair up with them without snagging and without leaving a dent in your hair. My hair used to always get pulled out and torn by hair bobbles, so now I only really use these and some Popbands. I love to use Invisibobbles especially when I have damp hair as my hair will dry tied up without having a huge wave in it when I take it down.
Paul Mitchell Marula Oil Rare Oil Treatment*, £33.95, Bohairmia
This cold-pressed Marula Oil is great for hydrating the hair, taming frizz and making it feel soft. On the days that I don’t wash my hair, I just put a little bit of this through the ends to stop them looking dry. It’s lightweight, non-greasy and smells amazing.
Charles Worthington Moisture Seal Hair Healer Leave-In Conditioner, £5.99, Boots
This leave-in conditioner is amazing. I tousle a dollop of it through my lengths and ends after towel-drying and leave it to do its magic. It’s very lightweight, but once my hair is dry, this stuff makes it feel soft, smooth and sleek like silk. The difference between when I do and don’t use this product is immense – it adds lots of moisture and makes it a lot more manageable and shiny.
