It’s time for my weekly face mask review, and this week it’s all about the new Liz Earle Superskin Overnight Mask* (£42 from Boots) – a mask that works as you sleep to give you brighter, smoother and more nourished skin.
The Liz Earle Superskin Overnight Mask comes in a large, heavy and luxurious-feeling pot. The texture of the mask itself is a light-medium cream – a lot thinner than the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish. It contains a lot of botanical ingredients, so the smell is very floral and ‘green’. You apply this to your face, neck and decolletage like you would a moisturiser, massaging it in as you go. It partly absorbs, but leaves quite a greasy, oil-like layer on your skin so that it can continue working during the night. I love the morning after effects of this mask, but I don’t like the feeling of it on my skin after applying it – it makes my face feel like it needs cleansing again. I am prepared to put up with this however, as I like how it makes my skin feel when I wake up.
It contains Persian Silk Tree Extract (to brighten the skin, combat signs of fatigue and even out skin tone), Pomegranate Flower (to firm the skin by boosting collagen and protect against environmental agressors) and Buriti, Borage, Rosehip and Cranberry Seed Oils (to lock in moisture). I have definitely been finding that I wake up with extra soft skin, with added radiance and plumpness.
This mask is suitable for all skin types and all ages will reep benefits from it. Have you tried any overnight masks?
