I’ve teamed up with Canon and Currys PC World, to show you how Glasgow bloggers are doing my favourite AW16 trend – embroidered flowers and birds. All of these images have been taken with the amazing Canon EOS M10 Compact System Camera* (£295 from Currys PC World).
The Canon EOS M10 is perfect for on-the-go photography as it’s very light and as portable as you can get with an interchangeable lens camera. I was amazed by the quality of this camera – the images are incredibly sharp, with rich colours and it copes well in low light. The Intelligent Auto mode even knows when to perfectly blur the background just when you want it to. For those interested in the specs, it is 18 Megapixels, 15-45 mm f/3.5-f/6.3 IS STM Wide-angle Zoom and has a handy flip screen that’s ideal for selfies. One of the things that I love most about this camera is that it has in-built WiFi so you can send your photos directly to your smartphone to upload to the likes of Instagram.
Now, onto the fashion… The utter babe that is Ayden from Little Blog of Horrors looks amazing in a sheer black bodysuit with embroidered roses. She’s teamed the pretty and delicate floral design with a ‘harder’ leather skirt and chunky platform sandals.
I’ve also been rocking the embroidery trend with a handbag that I went a bit DIY crazy on. I bought some embroidered flower and bird patches on Etsy and applied them to an old quilted handbag to upcycle it into something I would want to wear. I am so in love with this bag now and it looks really expensive. I’ve opted to team it with leather too – there’s a bit of a theme going on here.
I am so obsessed with embroidered denim – it looks so good. Charlotte from Colours & Carousels looks fabulously casual in these jeans that she has teamed with an on-trend mustard jumper. I love it! Another way to get on board with the embroidery trend is with tights. Blogger Lis from Last Year’s Girl wore these pretty floral black tights with some black lace-up sude boots – a cute way to keep warm this winter.
Finally, Lynsay aka Miss West End Girl looked her usual bright and colourful self the other night in an embroidered dress with flowers and birds on it. I love its delicate beading too. Teaming it with mustard tights is a great way to make this look really pop.
Aren’t we a stylish bunch here in Glasgow? Are you in love with the embroidery trend too?
