I can’t believe we are nearly at the end of 2016. This will be my last beauty favourites post for the year – the next will be at the end of January. There are a great mix of products in this month’s line-up, so you are sure to find something that you want to try.
The first product that i’ve been loving throughout November is the new Urban Decay Full Spectrum Palette* (£43 from Urban Decay). Not only is this a joy to look at, but it’s a joy to use too. It contains 21 shades of colourful matte and shimmer shadows – more eyeshadows than in any other Urban Decay palette. It’s organised in vertical trios to help you create coordinating eye looks, but really, you can do exactly as you want. Even just a pop of one colour in your inner corner or along your lower lash line is a great subtle way to use this palette.
The range of colours in this palette is amazing and on the whole, the quality is amazing – there are around three shades however that are a bit chalky and not as pigmented as I would like.
Next up is another product from Urban Decay that’s perfect for the festive party season. The new Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner in Goldrush* (£16 from Urban Decay) is incredible. The pigmentation and metallic sparkle on this is like nothing i’ve ever seen before, and it reaches this level in just a single swipe of the brush. Once this stuf has dried, it isn’t going anywhere – you can definitely rely on this water-resistant formula to keep your cat flick intact.
Another makeup product that i’ve been loving is from the limited edition Kiko The Holiday Collection. Their 2-in-1 Bronzer and Highlighter* (£25 from Kiko) is so pigmented and so finely milled – you need just the tiniest dab of your brush. The Ross Lovegrove packaging is suitably festive and has a handy huge mirror. I love that the highlighter is very subtle as it gives such a pretty soft-focus glow.
I’ve also really been enjoying using the bareMinerals barePRO Performance Wear Powder Foundation in Dawn* (£ from bareMinerals) This new mineral powder foundation has been my go-to for days when I don’t want the hassle of putting on any makeup, but I want a natural-looking effective coverage to even out my skin tone too. I apply a good moisturiser, then a dusting of this and it doesn’t make my skin look dry and lasts all day too. It has a full-coverage matte finish and is hypoallergenic.
Finally, there are two skincare items in my favourites from November. The Benefit Cosmetics Firm It Up! Eye Serum (£28.50 from Benefit Cosmetics) is a brilliant morning eye cream as it hydrates, firm, tightens and brightens to make you look like you’ve had a great night’s sleep. The texture is very lightweight and my undereyes feel immediately smoother and firmer. I find it lovely and cooling too.
Another radiance booster on my favourites list is the The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Radiance Activator* (£38 from Selfridges) is an amazing glow-giving primer with skincare benefits. You can actually use this as a serum too and it’s great as both. It has a pearlescent golden finish and instantly makes your skin look brighter and more radiant. It delivers a great boost of hydration too (via Hyaluronic Acid) and also contains skin softening and protecting Vitamin E.
Have you tried out any of these? What did you think?
