This time of year is full of parties and social gatherings, usually with late nights and alcohol. This can take its toll on our skin, making it look tired and dull. The Body Shop asked me to share some of my post-party skin tips with you, so all that festive fun doesn’t hit you so hard.
Sleep masks are IT
The Body Shop were one of the first high-street brands in the UK to get on-board with the Korean sleep mask trend. I reviewed their Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask* back in January 2015 (here) and raved about it. I’ve been using it again lately and am just as impressed. This mask (£24 from The Body Shop) literally makes you wake up with more hydrated, softer and plumper skin. It’s perfect to apply before you go to bed after a party to help you to look healthier when you wake up.
Eye magic
When you wake up, I’d really recommend popping on a set of under-eye masks for 30 minutes while you brush your teeth and prepare your breakfast. There are so many by lots of different brands, but ones that I’ve liked and reviewed are the Jamela Luxurious Gold Crystal Collagen Under-Eye Masks and the Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under-Eye Masks (both reviewed here) and the Skin Republic Collagen Hydrogel Under-Eye Patches (reviewed here). These will help to put the moisture back into this area, as well as firm it up. If your eyes are still looking tired and puffy, I’d really recommend wearing the TheraPearl Eye-ssential Mask (reviewed here) straight from the freezer for a couple of minutes. You could also just roll an ice cube around your eye area and your entire face to de-puff and firm the skin – it’s like a little mini face lift. Do all this before going through your normal skincare regime and it’ll make all the difference.
Anti-ageing skincare
The Drops of Youth Skincare Collection* (£40 from The Body Shop) isn’t currently available online, but you can buy each of the products seperately. The Drops of Youth Concentrate (£25) is a serum that has been designed for people showing the first signs of ageing. It’s organic and 99% natural and it hydrates, smoothes and helps surface skin look healthier and more even. This, along with the Drops of Youth Youth Cream (£20) will really help keep your skin looking and feeling good during the party season and beyond. The Youth Cream is a whipped moisturising cream that contains a blend of three plant stem cells and delivers intense results without feeling heavy – with this your skin will feel instantly plumper, smoother and softer.
