I love all of Benefit’s new products, so I just had to share them with you. At first glance, you might think some of them look a bit gimmicky; but they really aren’t. There’s a lip liner and lipstick in one, an eyeshadow that gives you lid colour and a defined crease in one swipe, and the much-anticipated new boxed blusher that hasn’t hit stores yet.
You’ll have seen these eyeshadows before in last year’s trio kits, but they have just been released as singles and in more shades. The They’re Real! Duo Shadow Blender in Beyond Nude* (£19.50 from Benefit Cosmetics) has a wider stripe of a lighter nude shade and a thin stripe of a darker brown shade. It comes with its own applicator sponge that’s designed to be dragged across the shadow pan and then swiped across your eyelid to give you lid colour and a darker crease in one go. At first, I thought this was a gimmicky idea that wouldn’t take off; but it actually works really well and it’s great for days when you just can’t be bothered doing much with your eyes. All you do is swipe this across, then blend the edges out quickly with your finger. The shadow is really pigmented and long-lasting too.
The sister product to these are the They’re Real! Double The Lip lipsticks. I have the shade Lusty Rose* (£16.50 from Benefit Cosmetics). The premise is the same, but for lips. These twist-up lipsticks have a teardrop shaped bullet that has a lighter lip colour at the bottom and a darker lip colour at the tip. It’s designed to be applied to your lips with the point tracing the outline, so that you get a lip colour and a darker defined lip outline in one. It works really well and looks natural. The two shades blend together seemlessly but it creates a really flattering optical illusion that make your lips look more defined. I love the formula of these lipsticks too – they are so creamy but not thick.
Finally, you need to see the new Benefit boxed blusher GALifornia* (£24.50 from Benefit Cosmetics). This is available on the website now, but doesn’t hit stores until 25th February. The box design is incredible and so cute and the blusher inside is a coral-toned pink shade with a hint of gold shimmer. The gold that you see on the top is just sprayed on and will come off with your first use, but there is a very subtle shimmer running through it all.
This is such a pretty blusher and such a girly shade. It smells of grapefruit and vanilla too. You do need to top this up throughout the day; but who wouldn’t want to pull the California surfer girl-inspired box out of their bag?! I really like the little brushes that come with Benefit’s boxed blushers and I always use them.
What do you like the look of best?
