This month’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box is themed around natural beauty and is all about using these products to enhance the beauty you were born with. There’s a good mixture of makeup, skincare and haircare in this box, so it will suit just about everyone.
My favourite product in this month’s box* (from £13 per month from Look Fantastic) is, of course, the sheet mask. I really like the Vitamasques Pomegranate Moisturising, Firming & Lifting Sheet Mask (worth £) and you get one of these scentless, one-use face masks in the box. This is a great sheet mask for morning use as it really firms your skin and hydrates it – I love to use it before my primer.
Another skincare product in the box that i’ve enjoyed using is the travel-size Omorovicza Cleansing Foam (full-size worth £44). I usually avoid foaming cleansers as the foaming agent is typically Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which really dries out the skin. This one, however, is Sulfate-free and is very gentle on the skin. I wouldn’t use it to take makeup off, but it’s a nice morning cleanser to refresh your skin.
The final skincare product in this month’s box is travel-size moisturiser. I haven’t tried the Madara Smart Antioxidants Fine Line Minimising Day Cream (full-size worth £35). This cream is designed to be used by dry to very dry skin, so I think this will be a good one for me. It’s anti-ageing, deeply moisturising and has great antioxidant properties. It’s organic and contains botanical greens such as lichen, moss and fern. This is a good opportunity to try the cream and see if it’s for you.
Onto makeup, there’s a Laura Geller Balance & Brighten Foundation in Fair (worth £23.40). I don’t like this powder foundation at all as I don’t get what it does. To me, it’s too sparkly and not the right colour to use as a powder foundation. It also doesn’t give great coverage. I think it’s best used as an all-over illuminator, but there are much better illuminating powders out there than this.
A product in the box that’s a kind of makeup for legs, is a sample size of the This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle (full-size worth £37). This lovely cream-gel serum gives your legs a touch of colour, disguises imperfections and gives them a good dose of moisture and other conditioning vitamins. It’s the perfect product for summer, if you want to give your legs a sun-kissed glow and make them look healthy when you bare them without tights.
There’s also a haircare product in the box. The travel-size Alterna Caviar CC Cream 10-in-1 Complete Correction Leave-In Hair Perfector (full-size worth £20.80) is a really good leave-in conditioner. It has 10 haircare benefits, including UV protection, heat protection, increasing hair strength, adding shine and making styling easier. This one is definitely a winner.
Finally, there’s one of the full-size Merci Handy Love & Hand Cleansing Gels in the scent New Wave (worth £2.90). I don’t like these and I’ve said this before. I think that they are too heavily chemically scented and the fragrance they put in doesn’t disguise it, but instead mixes with it to make it smell even worse than a standard hand sanitiser. This one is supposed to have a fresh ocean scent, but I just can’t use it.
