Kiko’s summer collection this year, the Tropic Heat collection, makes me feel so summery. It’s packaging is bold, vibrant and tropical (designed by Letimotiv), and the products themselves really offer something different. With this, you’ll have a dewy beach look in no time.
This is such a great collection, with some really interesting products in it. I’ve been testing out all of them and I think my favourite is the Tropic Heat Gel Highlighter* (£6.90 from Kiko). It comes in 2 shades and I have 01 Natural Gold. This is a beautiful bouncy gel-textured illuminator that gives off serious glow. I love this on my cheekbones, but you need to make sure you just pat it on and not try to blend it, as it does take off your foundation underneath.
Another of the products that will up your glow factor is the Tropic Heat Dewy Stick* (£7.90). This clear balm effectively adds some dewiness to the face and more illuminosity. You just draw it on where you want it – I like it above my eyebrows and on my cheekbones.
I’m back into loving cream blushers now that the weather is warmer. The Tropic Heat Lip & Cheek Stick* (£7.90) comes in 3 shades and I have 01 Exotic Coral. This applies beautifully as a blusher, but I don’t like it as a lip product – it’s just not the right texture. Draw this crayon onto your cheeks and then blend it out with your fingers. It is nicely pigmented and it adds a dewiness to your cheeks too.
One of the best eyeliners I have ever tried is the Tropic Heat Eye Marker* (£5.90). It comes in four shades – pastel green, sky blue, white and black. I have shade 03 Vitality Sky Blue and it’s amazing. It’s so pigmented and the felt tip allows you to apply the liner so smoothly. I’m definitely going to go into store to pick up the green one.
The last item of makeup in the collection is the Tropic Heat Prime & Fix Water* (£7.90). This is a scented primer water that comes in 3 scents. I have red fruits and it smells amazing – of tropical fruits and a hint of coconut. Spraying this on pre-base is so refreshing and it’s such as easy way to prime your skin. You can also apply it after makeup as a fixing spray.
There are also three nail polish shades in the collection and I have the Tropic Heat Nail Lacquer in shade 01 Flawless Grapefruit* (£3.90). This is a bright, vibrant polish that has good lasting power and pigmentation. I’ve shown you what it looks like with one coat (left) and then two coats (right).
Finally, there are some accessories in the collection – a cooling eye mask (£4.90), a makeup bag (£14.90) and a Tropic Heat Face Brush* (£10.90). This is a large, soft and dense synthetic brush that’s great for overall powder or bronzer.
Have you tried anything from this collection yet? What do you think of Kiko?
