As a self-proclaimed pizza fanatic, I was delighted to get the chance to work with Chicago Town again. They have recently launched two new flavours to the Chicago Town The Takeaway range of pizzas, and they’ve asked me to share my thoughts on them with you. I do love a good pizza party, but as I currently have a broken knee – my pizza nights consist of a solo sofa eating session in-front of some TV box sets.
The first new flavour is the mighty Classic Crust Barbecue Feast (around £4.29) – chorizo, red and yellow peppers, red onion, mozzarella and a barbecue sauce base. This has a gorgeous smokey barbecue taste and the juicy chorizo is amazing. The concept behind the Chicago Town The Takeaway range is that you get a delicious pizza with an authentic takeaway taste, at home and cooked in just 20 minutes. The dough isn’t pre-cooked, so you can see it rise in the oven.
These aren’t like your regular frozen pizzas, so when I was craving takeaway pizza when home alone with a broken knee, I just popped one of these in the oven. Not only does it save a fortune, but it would have taken me a good 15 minutes just to get to the door to pay the delivery driver if I had ordered a takeaway.
The next new flavour I had all to myself was the Chicago Town The Takeaway Stuffed Crust Pulled Buffalo Chicken. This one has Chicago Town’s delicious tomato pizza base stuffed into the crust for extra flavour. I think this one is my favourite – the toppings are pulled buffalo chicken, red onion and mozzarella over a buffalo-spiced tomato sauce base.
I got all wrapped up in a cosy blanket and enjoyed my pizza tasting session in-front of some of my favourite TV shows. All pizza parties need good entertainment, so I wanted to share my TV box set recommendations wth you. You need to check these out!
If you like reality TV, you just can’t beat Keeping Up With The Kardashians. The current series is particularly dramatic and funny too, so make sure you catch up on Hayu if you haven’t been watching it already. Another reality TV series I love is Made In Chelsea. This follows a group of 20-something Chelsea residents as they fall in and out of love and friendship. You can catch up with the current series of this on Demand 4.
If dramas are more your bag, my favourite at the moment is Designated Survivor. A new episode of this US political drama is currently being released weekly on Netflix. Kiefer Sutherland plays a reluctant US president who is tasked with battling terrorists and internal traitors. Another drama that’s nearly coming to a complete end, is Pretty Little Liars. The last ever few episodes are currently being released weekly on Netflix, but you can catch up with the show from the very beginning. It’s a murder mystery/thriller involving a group of school girls in a small US town.
Continuing in the US political drama vein, I also adore Scandal; which you can watch on Sky Living. This is a US presidential drama that’s full of corruption, terrorism, hustling and backstabbing. It’s a bit out there, but you won’t fail to get completely engrossed. Finally, I also want to recommend Madam Secretary; which follows Tea Leoni as US Secretary of State, as she battles family problems at home as well as navigating tricky world situations. You’ll love her – she’s a real good egg.
Have you tried these new Chicago Town flavours yet? What TV shows do you recommend?
