I know it’s not summer yet, but the weather is good and i’m making plans for summer trips and events, so it has got me thinking about how I want to style the main rooms in my house for the upcoming season.

I have more cushions that I know what to do with, but these are the main way that I change up my living room for new seasons. This summer I want everything to be bright and colourful, so these cushions are perfect. The palm print is iconic and I adore the pastel chevron background to the flamingo. I also have so many throws in my living room. In the summer I change up all the darker, cosier throws for brighter, sunnier ones. I still like to keep them warm and cosy in texture though.
How cute is the pineapple trinket dish and the white ceramic pineapple ornament?! Pineapple home accessories are a must for summer I think, and this white one is a nice twist on the gold ones that are a current blogger favourite. I know that they are so on-trend at the moment, but I don’t see the pineapple motif going anywhere soon.
Adding some wall art is also a great way to change the look of a room. I love the wire lettering and the slogan on the Next sign, and all the items in the watercolour print are so cute and completely my style… minus the skateboard. I think after the summer, I would move this canvas to my bedroom and keep it there all year-round. It’s so me!
In the summer I bring out all my coconut, zesty lime and cocktail-themed candles, and this Pina Colada one sounds like a gorgeous mix of all three. Scent, to me, is so important in a home and it really affects my mood. Pina Coladas and Mojitos are two of my favourite cocktails, so these are definitely the sorts of scents that i’ll be burning.
Finally, I completely fell in love with this footstool when I saw it – the colour is so striking and I love the modern, wire leg design. It’s stunning and looks so soft. If you can add just a few pops of bright colour to a room, you’ll make it a lot more summery.
Which of the items is your favourite? How do you make your home more summery? I also have a summer Pinterest board if you are interested in following it for more inspiration on all sorts of things for the season.
