This year, Givenchy have updated their Rouge Interdit lipstick range with new packaging, 24 new shades and a much nicer formula. I’ve got 5 of them here to share with you.
These look and feel like high-end, luxurious lipstick, which is what you want when you are paying this price. The Givenchy Rouge Interdit Lipsticks* (£25 from Debenhams) are a lovely way to treat yourself or give as a gift. You pull each lipstick out of a sleek black ribbon-embellished case and then twist each up to reveal the Givenchy logo. I’ve tried a lot of lipsticks in my time, but these are actually my first from Givenchy. I really impressed with how stunning they are – both aesthetically and in terms of performance.
There are a good range of shades – from pale nudes to vibrant fushcias – and the formula is beautiful. They have a full-coverage satin finish, are very buttery in texture and just glide onto the lips. They contain Black Rose Oil, Castor Seed Oil and Beeswax to condition the lips and keep wear comfortable at all times.
Let’s go through the shades I have. From right to left (and top to bottom), there is Framboise Obscur (a rich berry), Ultravioline (a vibrant fushcia), Secret Nude (a pale cream nude), Orange Adrenaline (a bright orange) and Rose Alibi (a muted berry-toned pink). I think my favourite is the last one – Rose Alibi – as it’s a perfect shade for everyday wear. The only shade I’m not keen on for my skintone is Secret Nude, as it’s too pale. I’m not sure who this shade would work for.
They feel very lightweight and you can easily apply them straight from the bullet, or you can use a lip brush for greater definition. Have you tried these lipsticks yet? What shades do you have your eye on?
