This month’s Look Fantastic Beauty Box is very much summer themed. It contains a whopping 7 products – making it great value. I’m going to take you through what’s inside, as it’s not too late for you to snap one up.
The name of the July 2017 Look Fantastic Beauty Box* (from £13 per month at Look Fantastic) is Pretty In Paradise, and it contains a selection of makeup, skincare and haircare that would be useful on holiday. I love the tropical palm leaf design of the box itself, and it’s worth remembering that you do get a free Elle Magazine every month, that’s worth over £4 on its own.
There are a few really nice products from some really good brands in this month’s box; but there’s also some rubbish products from some quite random brands too. Let’s start with the products I like. First up, there’s a lovely travel size toner from Cowshed – the Cowshed Chamomile Refreshing Toner smells so relaxing (there’s lavender in there too), is great quality and is in a perfect size for travel. It feels very soothing; making it perfect for hot summer vacations.
Another product I really like in the box is the travel size Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream. I use this on dry hairstyles to tame any flyaway hairs or frizz. So, if the summer humidity plays havoc with your hair, this little gem will keep it looking sleek, but will also keep your hair strands hydrated too. You get a light hold with this, and it adds shine to your hair via its Argan Oil ingredient.
Finally, I’m also happy to see a handy travel-size Regenerate Toothpaste and an Imedeen Advanced Beauty Shot in the box. The toothpaste is, again, in the perfect size for travel. It cleans, helps to repair enamel and whitens your smile too. The inclusion of the Imedeen skin supplement beauty shot in the box allows you to try this product if the fishy taste of other brand’s versions have previously put you off. This one is easy to down; having a strong citrus taste instead. It’s basically an anti-ageing collagen and Vitamin C drink to improve your skin from the inside out.
Time for the products I don’t like! There’s a travel size pot of facial SPF from French brand Mimitika. There’s nothing particularly bad about this – I just don’t like the formula as it feels greasy on my skin. It’s supposed to be lightweight and hydrating, so it might suit your skin – mine just doesn’t like it.
A product that I do think is terrible quality though, is a full-size bronzer from Hot Makeup. The Hot Makeup Bronzing Powder packaging looks like a product you would pick up in a £ shop and the product itself is very chalky with a lot of fallout. It also has a chunky gold glitter sparkle in it, which I’m not keen on.
I also very much dislike the other full-size product in the box – the Jelly Pong Pong Bare Necessities Highlighting Pencil. Nothing about this is highlighting – at least not on my skin tone. It’s a strange salmon pink colour and is completely matte. You could use this as a colour-correcting concealer for dark circles, but it would depend on the tone of your dark circles what colour of colour correcting concealer you need.
What do you think? If you want to subscribe to the Look Fantastic Beauty Box and get this month’s box, get over to their site pronto!
