Since this week is Afternoon Tea Week, and i’m a huge fan of tea, cake and social media, I am delighted to be able to team up with BuyAGift to promote the ‘Great Britain Needs a Tea Emoji’ petition. Can you believe there isn’t a tea emoji?! Get signing the petition!
Going for afternoon tea is one of my favourite activities, so while we’re on the subject, I thought I’d share a few places around Glasgow that are on my list to visit next. You can purchase vouchers via BuyAGift for some of these experiences – a great way to give a surprise gift of an afternoon tea without having to make a date/time booking. All vouchers can be used for 10 months after purchase.
Patisserie Valerie
I love the cakes in Patisserie Valerie and often get a slice of their Strawberry Gateaux to take away when I pass one of their stores. I haven’t experienced one of their afternoon teas yet, so this is currently top of my list. You can get a voucher for a Patisserie Valerie afternoon tea for two for £35 on BuyAGift. You’ll get tea, cakes, sandwiches and scones with jam and cream. Also, amazingly, you get a £10 voucher to spend on more cakes to take home with you!
Hallmark Hotel Glasgow
I see the logo for this hotel everytime I drive over the Kingston Bridge, but I’ve never been. BuyAGift offer a voucher for a luxury afternoon tea for two for £60, and this hotel is one of the available locations. You get tea, coffee and a glass of champagne, along with a three-tier stand of sandwiches, scones and pretty cakes.
The Butterfly & The Pig
This is a quirky cafe/bistro on Bath Street that are known for their excellent cakes. I’ve not managed to get there for afternoon tea yet, but it’s definitely on my list. For £17.50 you get canapes, sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea and a glass of prosecco. There’s also a £13.95 afternoon tea that doesn’t come with prosecco.
Cup Tea Lounge
I also really want to have afternoon tea at Cup Tea Lounge in Glasgow city centre. This is essentially a cupcake cafe and they have a huge range of beautiful creations. Their afternoon teas include tea, luxury sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, a cupcake of the day and a selection of other cakes. You can also upgrade your £20 afternoon tea with alcoholic drinks.
If you love afternoon tea, or just tea in general, and you have ever gone to look for a tea emoji on your phone, why not sign the petition to create one. We need a tea emoji! I love looking at photos of afternoon tea, and reading blogger’s posts on their favourite afternoon teas. I’m desperate to try some of these London afternoon teas that Molly at Piccavey wrote about.
This is a sponsored post with BuyAGift, but all opinions are my own.
