It’s monthy favourites time again! For August, I’m starting by sharing my fashion and lifestyle favourites with you, and it’s a real mixed bag. There’s fashion accessories, clothing, tech gadgets and homeware items, as well as a giveaway for you guys too! I hope you discover something new to love.
I picked up such a cool bracelet, that’s slightly grungy and casual, but also bling-y at the same time. The Bijou Bijou Silver Arrow White Crystal Bracelet (£83 from Bijou Bijou) looks great teamed with a blazer and jeans. I’m so glad I came across this brand as they have so many unique and cool pieces, and the quality is excellent. There is a spelling mistake on the dust pouch though right? Weird!
Another fashion item that I’ve been loving in August, is this grey waterfall blazer (£17.99 from Lesara). It’s a very thin, light jacket that I’ve been wearing with a t-shirt and jeans to make a really laid-back outfit look at little bit more put together. I love that it’s such a bargain too.
Moving onto techy gadgets, there’s something so cool that I want to introduce you too. When I was asked to try out the Scenes Lifelike 3D Audio Recording Headphones* ($79 from Indie GoGo), I was intrigued. We all know about 3D and 4D imaging, but audio? What 3D audio basically means is that you can hear the sound as if you are there – different sounds in different ears/speakers to create an immersive experience. Scenes explain it as – “it captures how the sound moves, where it comes from, and how the surrounding environment changes the sound with reflection, refraction, diffraction and other sound variations. When you use the headphones to play back your recording, you can easily pinpoint the variation of sound”.
This company have just released these and they are selling on Indie GoGo for half their recommended retail price, for funding. They are a world first and really easy to use. They are compatible with iPhone devices and are great for live streaming or recording video for Instagram etc. You don’t need an app to use them – you just plug the headphones into the tiny recorder box, then it into your phone and start filming or recording via any phone app. The guys behind this received a 2017 CES Innovation Award for these headphones and I think they are going to be big. Once you start recording and making videos with these, you won’t want to go back to putting out content with regular, flat 2D sound.
Another very cool piece of tech that you’ll have seen me playing around with on Instagram for the past couple of months, is the HP Sprocket Printer* (£99 from Currys). This little guy plugs into your phone, and via the HP Sprocket app, you choose photos from your camera roll to print out in miniature size. You can even add filters to the photos, borders, text and fab stickers too, so this is a perfect photo printer for scrapbooking.
It’s very small and lightweight too, so you could easily carry this about and print out photos for your friends. I’ve been enjoying scrapbooking with this, and I’ve shared some more of my pages on Instagram. With your printer you get film to print 10 photos, then it will cost £9.99 per 20 sheets – so 50p per photo.
My final gadget favourite for August is my first ever Nespresso machine. This arrived from the lovely team at Nespresso as a surprise, with a whole haul of pods of all their different coffee flavours. It was to celebrate the launch of their new Legero on Ice and Intenso on Ice pods that are designed to be used to make iced coffees. This has revolutionised the task of making my husband’s daily coffees – it’s so quick, mess-free and easy, and he loves the range of flavours available. All you do is fill up the back tank with water, put your mug or glass on the drip tray at the front, pop a pod in the slot at the top and you’re good to go. The Nespresso Essenza Mini* (£89 from Nespresso) does everything for you and makes perfect coffees.
The last thing that I want to share with you, that’s been a real favourite for me recently, is the Songmics Lap Desk* (£16.99 from Amazon). It’s such a great, sturdy wooden panel, with slots for your phone and pens, and space for your laptop and notebook or diary. The quality of the wood for £16.99 is really amazing and I think it looks very chic. I have two of these lap desks to give away to two lucky winners. The giveaway is open to UK residents only and will end at 11.59PM on Monday 4th September 2017. All you need to do to enter is follow the Rafflecopter instructions below. The two prizes will be sent to winners direct from Songmics. It’s worth keeping an eye out on their Facebook page for future giveaways too – they are home organisation gods!
