I’ve been enjoying three new makeup primers recently, so I thought I would put them together in a post for you. There’s a hydrating one, as well as two that can perform some great anti-ageing, skin smoothing tricks. I would really recommend you try them.
Sleek MakeUP Hydrating Primer – £7.99 from Boots
This new primer from Sleek is lightweight and hydrating. It does contain Dimethicone, so it does have that silicone texture, but it doesn’t feel like you have a layer of stuff sitting on top of your skin. It really plumps the skin, smoothes it, and leaves it feeling silky soft. This is a really nice base for makeup and it does help it to stay in place longer. You can also wear this primer on its own without makeup as it has that skin plumping, skin smoothing, line minimising effect. It makes your skin feel so nice.
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Primer For Forehead – £14.99 from Boots
THIS! I’ve been trying to decide whether to get fillers in my forehead for a while, as I have two deep creases that run vertically from the inner edge of each brow to my hairline. I think they are a result of years and years of anxiety and frowning, but they make the middle of my forehead look like it is a little fat section (i’ve zoomed in on a photo above to show you what I mean) when I move a certain way. Anyway, I want rid of them, and this primer is essentially a ‘hole filler’ – it fills in, blurs and minimises the creases. You paint it on with the brush, wait for it to dry, then carry on with the rest of your makeup routine. It uses micro-fillers and optical diffusers to work its magic. It has a light, slightly milky silicone texture and it leaves your skin feeling very soft and smooth.
Revlon Youth FX Fill + Blur Primer For Face & Neck – £14.99 from Boots
I’ve also been enjoying this primer from Revlon, and you can use it over the forehead primer. This has such a great applicator on it – a large rubber teardrop. The product comes out of this and you use the rubber head to spread and blend the primer into your skin. You can give your face and neck a good massage with it too. The texture of this primer is thicker, but it’s very hydrating. It really plumps your skin and it feels as if it has become ‘one’ with your skin (yes, I did just write that). It uses micro fillers and optical diffusers also, but in a less intense way that the forehead primer does. I love applying makeup to my skin after using this, as it looks and feels so plump, young and healthy.
Have you tried any of these yet?
