The next gift guide in my series this year is for Mums and Aunts, and it’s full of presents that would appeal to the older women in your life. They are all so good though, that they would, of course, appeal to anyone. There’s everything from beauty sets to cookbooks to get you inspired.
The first item is a rather luxurious, scented, ceramic tree ornament from Jo Malone. The Pine & Eucalyptus Scented Ceramic Christmas Ornament* (£28 from John Lewis) has a chic, understated design, but will fill your room with a Jo Malone luxury festive fragrance.
If you are buying for someone who loves to travel, the Sara Miller London Luxury Silk Travel Set* (£35 from Amara) is the ultimate in luxury travel accessories – a silk eye mask, with a cute flamingo print, to block out the light, and a silk bag to store jewellery or delicate underwear.
Talking of luxury, Jo Loves, the new brand from founder Jo Malone, have created a perfect Christmas candle. Their Christmas Trees Candle* (£55 from Jo Loves) comes in a beautiful limited edition snowflake-embellished glass jar and smells exactly like real Christmas trees – a lovely fresh pine scent. Every home needs one of these this festive season.
If you know someone who loves to cook, a This Is Your Cookbook Personalised Cookbook* (£19.95 for hardback from This Is Your Cookbook) allows you to choose the recipes that fill the book and put their name inside and on the front cover. You could fill it with chocolate recipes if they are a chocaholic, or brunch recipes if that’s there favourite way to spend a weekend.
Onto beauty gifts, Image Skincare have a stunning set that comes in beautiful faux leather box. The Image Skincare Revitalise Collection* (118 Euros from Skin Shop) contains a full-size Vital C Hydrating Facial Cleanser, a full-size Ageless Hyaluronic Filler Serum and a full-size Prevention+ Daily Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 30. This trio will minimise the appearance of lines and wrinkles, brighten the skin, support collagen production and protect your skin from the sun and environmental stresses.
If you have a fragrance lover in mind, there’s a lovely classic set from Yardley London. Their English Rose Gift Set* (£7 from Boots) contains a calming rose-scented fragrance and body spray. Alternatively, if they prefer deeper, headier scents, Aramis Modern Leather* (£48 from House of Fraser) may be the one for them. It’s a unisex fragrance, and the woody, musky scent lingers all day.
One of my favourite skincare brands, Emma Hardie Skincare, has a beautiful set available. It’s a great chance for you to try new and classic gems from the company. The Emma Hardie Lift & Glow Skin Essentials Kit* (£55 from Cult Beauty) contains deluxe travel sizes of the cult Moringa Cleansing Balm, as well as the Age Support Face Cream, Brilliance Facial Oil and Protect & Prime SPF 30. This brand is just amazing, and anyone’s skin would benefit for a dose of Emma Hardie.
If your budget is a bit lower, Nivea also have a lovely skincare set. The Nivea Smooth Skin Gift Set* (£20 from Superdrug) contains Nivea Express Care Hand Cream, Nivea Hydro Care Caring Lip Balm, Nivea Silk Shower Mousse Creme Soft, Nivea Daily Essentials 3 in 1 Caring Micellar Cleansing Wipes, Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream, and a shower puff. It has a great range of products that everyone can enjoy and make use of.
Finally, I have a beauty gadget to share with you. The Braun Face Spa 851V* (£49.99 from Argos) is a battery-operated tool that comes with three heads – a facial epilator, a cleansing brush and a skin vitalising massager. This would make a great addition to anyone’s skincare regime, and you’ll be amazed at how much a difference facial massage makes to your skin. You even get a handy travel pouch and miniature lighted mirror too. A must-have device for all beauty addicts.
