I’ve admired Pixi Beauty from afar for a long time, but I haven’t really tried many of their products. Their new launches for spring 2018 are beautiful, so I was so excited to try them. I’ve got a large selection of their new makeup and skincare releases to share with you. Get your purses ready!Let’s start with the makeup. I am totally in love with the new Pixi Beauty Liquid Fairy Lights* (£15 from Pixi Beauty). These are super-sparkly glitter eyeshadow toppers, or they can be worn on their own and blended out. Not only do they look incredibly pretty, but they also soothe and hydrate the skin via their chamomile and rose extract ingredients. I have three of the five shades – Crystalline (an iridescent white), Bare Brilliance (a brown-toned nude with gold glitter), and Passion Light (a deep copper). Tip: Crysalline looks great in the inner corner of your eyes to really make them look more alive and awake.
Pixi Beauty also have a new eyeshadow palette that’s just stunning. I’m obsessed with it at the moment. The Pixi Beauty Eye Reflections Shadow Palette* (£24) contains nude, through warm-toned, to brown eyeshadow shades; most of which are shimmery and metallic in finish. There’s what they are calling creamy glow shades, 3D metallics and matte transition shades. They are all incredibly pigmented and silky in finish, and they blend beautifully too. The shades also stay just as vibrant on your eyes from the start of, to the finish of, your day. This is definitely one of those key palettes that everyone should own, as it will see you through any occassion or time of day; with either a subtle or a bold look. Tip: the top three shades work as great inner corner or browbone highlight shades. You could even put them on your cheekbones.
Continuing with the eye theme, Pixi have launched their Endless Silky Eye Pen in the shade RoseGlow* (£12) These are very creamy, gel-like eyeliners. You’ve got to be careful not to press too hard with these or you will snap the tip off – they are super-pigmented and just glide on, so you just need a light touch. These are long wearing too, and are the perfect texture to apply in your waterline and tightline. This rosey bronze shade is just dreamy.
Onto skincare, Pixi have some amazing new releases. Their Rose Cream Cleanser* (£18) smells and feels so luxurious. It’s rich, nourishing and softening, and I just want to use it all the time. This cleanser is great as a second cleanse, once you have already removed your makeup. It contains a conditioning mineral rich mud, as well as balancing and nourishing rose and avocado. There’s also chamomile and aloe vera to soothe the skin. This cleanser is a real treat to use, and leaves your skin feeling soft, supple and healthy.
Talking of florals, they’ve also created a gorgeous Jasmine Oil Blend* (£26). This is highly scented, so feels like a real luxury product. It’s designed to combat moisture loss and dullness, as well as repair damage, and calm and restore stressed skin. This healing and calming oil contains Jasmine Flower Extract, Evening Primrose and Grape Seed Oil, and it’s rich in Omega-6, Vitamin C and antioxidents. You apply a few drops to your hands, then gently press onto a cleansed and toned face. Tip: add a few drops to your basin of water as you soak your flannel, for an extra pampering treat after cleansing.
Also new is the Pixi Beauty Rose Tonic* (£10). This soothing toner is designed to be applied to the face after cleansing via a soaked cotton pad, to help balance the skin and remove any traces of cleanser still left on the skin. It tones, hydrates, balances skin pH, minimises skin redness, and calms the skin too. It also smells exquisite.
Finally, Pixi have released one of those famous black, peel-off, pore cleansing masks. I’ve not been a fan of these masks as I don’t think they are good for your skin, but if I was going to trust any brand with one, it would be Pixi Beauty. I don’t have clogged pores or blackheads, so this isn’t really a mask for me; but I have tried it and it isn’t hard or painful to remove. The Pixi Beauty T-Zone Peel-Off Mask* (£18) is designed to draw out impurities from the skin and remove excess oil. It contains a firming and refining green super food blend (including avocado, cucumber, aloe, green tea and bamboo extract) too. Be careful to apply this to your t-zone only, and to avoid any delicate areas such as your eyes and lips. It’s also important to keep it away from your eyebrows and hairline, and not to apply it to skin that is irritated or broken.
