A lot of Kiko’s limited edition collections tend to be very similar and full of re-releases in different packaging, but this one contains some amazing products that you should definitely grab before the collection sells out. This collection contains THE most amazing highlighter that i’ve seen in ages. It’s stunning and is definitely not subtle – this gives full-on, seen from space, glow. The Kiko Milano Gold Waves Highlighter in 01 Golden Vibes* (£16.90 from Kiko Milano) is such a creamy, smooth, powder highlighter that blend’s beautifully and gives a golden beach goddess glow. In the pan, it doesn’t look like anything special; but once you swirl all those marbled shades together, it’s just golden perfection.
I also adore one of the blushers from the collection. The Kiko Milano Gold Waves Blush in 02 Coral Sunset* (£16.90) is a stunning pink-coral shade with finely-milled golden shimmer. It gives your cheeks a beautiful flush of colour and some lovely, natural-looking glow. This is the perfect blusher for summer for anyone who likes pink-toned blushers and radiant skin. It’s so pretty and makes me look healthy and awake when i’m feeling tired and sluggish.
Incase you haven’t guessed, this collection is all about golden sunsets. I love gold eye makeup as it really makes eyes sparkle and stand out. This collection has a beautiful cream eyeshadow in a stunning pale gold shade. The Kiko Milano Gold Waves Metallic Eyeshadow in 01 Silky Gold* (£8.90) is actually more liquid than cream, and it does take a minute or two to fully dry; but it gives your eyelids a real metallic sheen. It comes with a handy doe-foot applicator, and you can blend the shadow out for a sheer golden look, or you can apply it more fully to look like liquid gold. This also makes a really pretty liquid highlighter if you dab it onto your cheekbones and blend out. Make sure you shake this product well before applying, otherwise it will be far too watery to use.
Another eye product that i’m loving from the collection is the Kiko Milano Gold Waves Rolling Eyeliner in 01 Opulent Gold* (£9.90). This is another product that needs a good shake before application, but it looks so pretty on; especially when it catches the light. It’s a subtle gold eyeliner with tiny specks of gold glitter. I thought the roller applicator would be a bit of a gimmick, but it actually helps you to get really close to the lash line and stay on track. If you want to try some gold eye makeup, but don’t want it to be too full-on, this is a great, delicate way to get a little bit of golden sparkle.
Finally, like with most of Kiko’s collections, I’m loving the mascara. The Kiko Milano Gold Waves Mascara* (£11.90) has a brush wand that grabs hold of all of your lashes to give them a dark black colour and increased volume. What I found really interesting about this mascara is that it promises to give you darker lashes after 14 days of use, so it must tint them a little bit with every application. I haven’t been using it long enough to test this claim, but it would be great if it worked. I love how it makes my lashes look so full and defined.
