I wanted to share with you three new makeup releases, from some of my favourite brands, that I think you simply can’t be without this summer. Each of these products are perfect for sunny days, and include an eyeshadow palette, a skin-perfecting SPF primer and a highlighter trio.bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Defense Radiant Tint Protective Moisturizer SPF 30* – £22.40, bareMinerals
This is a really interesting product, and it’s perfect for me since i’m at a computer or on my phone all day long. Studies by bareMinerals have shown that we clock up more than 10 hours of screen time every day. I definitely exceed this. This moisturiser gives you SPF 3o protection, as well as protection from the blue light that our devices emit. Blue light can penetrate deeper into the skin than UVB rays from the sun, and can advance signs of ageing and cause pigmentation issues. You also get defence against pollution with this product too.
It comes in one universal shade. You don’t really get much coverage from it, but it is enough to gently even out tonal differences in my complexion, since I have such fair skin. There are also pearl particles that help to perfect the look of the skin and add radiance. This product protects you from environmental and digital damage, but is also great for your skin’s condition too. It contains sustainably-sourced cacao extract to defend against blue light damage; sugar molecules to protect skin from air pollution, Camellia flower extract to support your skin’s natural collagen; and a non-chemical mineral SPF to protect your skin from UV rays. It’s also free from Sulfates, Mineral Oil and synthetic fragrances.Charlotte Tilbury Bars of Gold Palette* – £49, Charlotte Tilbury
Charlotte has launched a stunning new highlighter trio, that’s exclusive to the Charlotte Tilbury site. It looks visually beautiful, and has three shades of gold powder highlighter shaped into gold bars. The shades are – her original ‘Bar of Gold’ shade, a classic pale gold; the new Rose Gold shade, a pretty pink-toned gold; and the new Gold Bullion, a darker, more orange-toned gold. All shades contains pearl particles to illuminate the skin. These powder highlighters are so finely-milled, and are almost creamy in texture. They blend beautifully into the skin, and give you a really beautiful glow. You can also build these up to give yourself a seriously popping strobe effect. These are the highlighters I am reaching for at the moment, and I have been since the day the palette arrived on my doorstep.
Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Eyeshadow Palette* – £42, Fenty Beauty
The Fenty Beauty collection from Rihanna just continues to impress me. All of the products are amazing quality and perform beautifully. The latest collection from the brand is Moroccan Spice – perfect for hot days in exotic locations, and summer sun. The stand-out piece is the eyeshadow palette. It contains a range of mostly warm-toned matte and metallic shades, from an intense gold (Marrakush), to a deep terracotta (Saffron); and a white highighter shade that has a pink shift (Mo’ Rockin Ice), to a stunning wow-effect blue (Evil Genie). All of the shades are so intense, and they just glide on. I especially love all of the metallics, as just one swipe of these will blow you away. They also stay put for a long time. I’ve been wearing these for 12-13 hours each day, and my eyeshadow looks exactly the same at night as when I left the house in the morning. That’s without even using the Fenty Beauty eyeshadow primer. If you have oily skin though, I think the Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer (£18) would really help your lids to get some staying power.
