The nights are getting darker, and the weather is getting colder. Autumn is very much on the horizon, so i’ve put together an edit of my favourite fashion pieces from the high street and online. It’s time for a wardrobe refresh!
Oasis Curve Jersey Stripe Wrap Dress, £46, Oasis | Animal Print Flippy Hem Skirt, £22, Simply Be | Paige Hoxton Straight Ankle Jean in Townsend, £290, Trilogy | You OK Hun? Slogan T-Shirt, £9.99, New Look | Warehouse Long Satin Tipped Blouse in Mustard, £36, Warehouse | M&S Collection Curve Pleated Skirt, £49.50, Marks & Spencer
This dress from Oasis will be really body-lengthening and flattering on fuller figures. It’s in lovely autumnal colours too. I also love this leopard print skirt from Simply Be. I’m a bit obsessed with leopard print, and I think if you keep it to just one leopard print item or accessory per outfit, it won’t look cheap and nasty.
You can’t beat a good quality pair of jeans, and in autumn and winter, I like to switch to a darker denim than the light blue that I wear in the summer and spring. This pair from Trilogy are really smart. I love a slogan tee anytime of the year, and this one from New Look is so cute, and I think it celebrates female friendships.
Mustard is going to be the colour of AW18, and it’s a shade of yellow that I love. This chic silk blouse from Warehouse is a great way to add it to your outfit. I also love a midi skirt as you can dress them up, or dress them down with a slogan tee and a pair of trainers. This one from M&S is in a gorgeous autumnal wine shade.Topshop Kick Ankle Boots, £49, Topshop | Boohoo Plus Crop Suedette Horn Button Jacket, £20, Boohoo | Cocoon Alpaca Wool Coat, £739, Wolf and Badger | Accessorize Carly Cross Body Bag, £27.50, Accessorize | Little Mistress Girls on Film Avenue Checked Trousers, £28, Little Mistress | H&M Patterned Dress, £34.99, H&M
These are great smart-casual ankle boots and the pale grey is such a beautiful colour. A cropped jacket isn’t the warmest of cover-ups, but for early autumn, this brown suede jacket from Boohoo will look great over a long jumper dress.
I love a statement coat, and this makes a real statement. It also looks incredibly warm. I’d love to wrap up in this coat from Wolf & Badger this autumn. I like a big handbag for day-t0-day use, but crossbodys are my favourite for brunch, lunch or trips out. I love the two-tone purple shades and gold hardware on this one from Accessorize.
High-waisted tailored trousers look great with trainers and a slogan t-shirt. Or you can dress them up for the office with a chic blouse. These checked trousers from Little Mistress are just perfection. This stunning maxi dress from H&M doesn’t need any fancy jewellery or accessories. It does all the talking all on its own. Team with lace-up boots.
