I wanted to share the new Kat Von D Metal Crush highlighters with you, as i’ve really been enjoying using them. If you like strong highlighters and experimental shades, this duo-tone range of powders and liquids is definitely for you.
This range of new highlighters was inspired by the Metal Crush Eyeshadow shade Thunderstruck, which also doubled as a great highlighter. Kat Von D have created the Metal Crush Liquid Highlighter* (£19 from Debenhams) in four shades, and the Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter* (£24 from Debenhams), in five shades. All of these highlighters are very strong and have quite a metallic look and finish. They are also all duo-tone, so they have a shift in colour according to the light reflection. The four shades of the Kat Von D Metal Crush Liquid Highlighter are Roseshock (a metallic pink with lavender and pink glimmer), Helix (a metallic opal shade with silver and gold glimmer), Gammaray (a metallic peach with pink and gold glimmer) and Gold Skool (a metallic champagne gold shade with gold glimmer). The two shades i’ve been testing out are Roseshock and Gold Skool. The formula of these is very sparkly, but very fine. It has a small sponge applicator for targeted application, and it blends out really nicely. You can really build these highlighters too, to create as intense a highlight as you want. I’d also recommend that you try mixing different shades together, to create your own custom shade of glow.
The Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter comes in five different shades – Roseshock (a metallic pink with lavender and pink glimmer), Gammaray (a metallic peach with pink and gold glimmer), Gold Skool (a metallic champagne gold shade with gold glimmer), Gravitron (a metallic pink with pink and gold glitter) and Stephonik (a metallic icy blue with blue and silver glitter). I’ve been playing with Gold Skool and Gravitron. These are initially quite powdery in texture with a bit of fall-out, but they do blend out very well. These aren’t natural highlighters, so you are going to look like you’ve put some effort into your radiance. The powders contain three different layers of sparkle – a tinted glittering base, ultra-fine micro-glitter, and magnified glitter crystals that catch the light for a multi-dimensional finish. They really are something. Go forth and glow!
