It’s that time of year when the work and social Christmas party invites start landing in your inbox. There’s always the same panic every year over what to wear and whether we’ll have time to actually buy anything new. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite party fashion pieces out there at the moment, for both women and men.
Rixo Iris Mini Wrap Dress in Blue, £295, Trilogy | Gold Metallic Sequin Embellished Dress, £45, River Island | Extra Slim Fit Non-Iron Pink Arrow Weave Shirt, £39.95, Charles Tyrwhitt | Curves Black Lace Bodysuit, £19.99, New Look | DKNY Pleated Maxi Skirt, £118, Farfetch | Tonic Shirt & Tie Set, £30, Next
I always think that anything glittery, sequinned or red is perfect for a Christmas party. I love this stunning statement red maxi skirt (which would look great worn with the bodysuit), and that starburst dress is so unique and interesting.
For men, I think you can never go wrong with a shirt and tie combo. Choose colours/shades that look both smart and make a statement too.Needle & Thread Whimsical Embroidered Tuille Dress, £185, Net-a-Porter | Orrnate Pewter Studded High Heel Ankle Boot, £185, Dune | Girls on Film Sleeveless Striped Sequin Dress, £60, House of Fraser | Mix Mat TC Oxford Blue Lace Ups, £320, Kurt Geiger | W&B London Charc Check Trousers, £25, Jacamo | Boohoo Plus Leopard Print Top, £18, Boohoo
I’m loving this rainbow sequinned dress – it’s the stuff of dreams! I also adore those boots from Kurt Geiger. We usually go straight to strappy sandals when choosing our party footwear, but don’t underestimate the power of wearing boots like these with a short dress for an edgier look.
If men don’t want to go with something as formal as a shirt and tie, a pair of statement print trousers, worn with a t-shirt, will still make you look smart and like you’ve made an effort.
You can see more of what i’m loving, and what i’m doing, over on my Instagram.
