Korean brand Jinmee have such an interesting twist on a sheet mask. Small patches of fibre that you soak with your own serums to supercharge your skincare products by turning them into a mask that you can put on whatever areas of your face that you want. Multi-masking for sheet mask addicts!
Jinmee are a new Korean brand. The translation of Jinmee is ‘best beauty’, so they aim to bring everyone the best beauty products. The Hydrapuffs are biodegradable, cruelty-free and Vegan; and the cardboard packaging is recyclable too. They actually have a ‘happy planet’ environmental mandate/campaign which you can read about on their website. Standard pads absorb 90% of your product without being able to redistribute it. However, the Hydrapuff will release 100% of the product it absorbs into your skin, meaning less wastage for better results! The tiny fibre sheets (or ‘Hydrapuffs’) are designed to be used with any serum or lotion, and should be applied post-cleansing. The Jinmee Hydrapuff* (£6.50 for pack of 60 double sheets from Jinmee ) are designed to really make your products work more effectively. You need to drench the sheet in product, so you will use a lot of serum (be warned if it’s an expensive one you’re trying to ration out!). Then, apply it to whatever area of your face that you want and leave for 5-10 minutes (or until Hydrapuff is nearly dried out).
I really like these as it’s such a clever idea to be able to multi-mask sheet mask style e.g. put an oil control serum-soaked sheet on your chin, and a hydrating serum-soaked pad on your cheeks. It’s also a way to get more serum into your skin than you would with a conventional application with your fingers. The downside is that you do use a lot of serum (around 8 small square sheets per bottle of the serum that I used). I get sent a lot of serums and lotions and never have the room to try them all, so turning them into masks would be a handy use for them. If your budget for skincare is small however, this might not be the best use for your products.
The serum that I used, in case you are interested, is also Korean and it works well with the Jinmee Hydrapuffs. The It’s Skin Power 10 VE serum* (£12 from Boots) is a Vitamin E serum to nourish and moisturise to give skin a healthy glow. Vitamin E is also an antioxidant to protect your skin from environmental aggressors. It’s a good serum for all skin types.
You can also use your Hydrapuffs to apply your toner, instead of a cotton pad. It will help make your toners last a lot longer due to the way they absorb and dispense product. I’d definitely recommend you get yourself a pack of these multi-functional Hydrapuff sheets.
