I’m really excited about fashion at the moment, as I’m obsessed with the hair clip trend, and then the weather is getting warmer enough that I can wear my favourite piece of clothing again – the statement midi skirt. I’m going to be all over hair clips and midi skirts for the next few months, so I thought that I would share my favourites that i’ve found online. Let the fun begin!
This is a sponsored post by Kture, but all opinions are my own.
Kenzo Phoenix Print Skirt, £360, Kenzo skirts from Kture | New Look Light Grey Satin Snake Print Printed Midi Skirt, £22.99, New Look | Penelope Azure Blue Pleated Two-Tone Midi Skirt, £175, Wolf & Badger | Oliver Bonas Oversized Star Barette Hair Clip, £15, Oliver Bonas | Anthropologie Set of 6 Tortoiseshell Hair Clips, £22, Anthropologie | Gucci Crystal Single Hair Clip, £315, Gucci
I adore the Gucci hair clip. It makes such a statement and is both chic and cool. You could really do absolutely anything with your hair, pop this in and it’ll look amazing.
I’m also so into tortoiseshell (faux) at the moment, and I love how brands are putting a twist on it and introducing different colours. These six clips from Anthropologie are so cute.
I love the print on the Kenzo skirt* that mixes red and blue. I think those colours look great together, the dip at the bottom left of the skirt makes it really quirky too.
Animal prints are huge this season, and I like to have just one piece in an outfit. The pale grey snakeskin print maxi skirt above, and midi skirt below allow you to subtly adopt the trend without it looking too much.
You might not think that midi-skirts will suit you (I think they suit all bodies) or that they fit with your sense of style. If you are more of a mini-skirt type of person, who loves to show off their legs, you’ll find such an incredible range of these on the big online fashion retail sites such as FashionNova or Boohoo. Sites like these are also best for more niche skirts such as asymetrical ones.
Pull & Bear Neon Pleated Midi Skirt, £25.99, Pull & Bear | BA&SH Suzon High-Rise Metallic Midi Skirt, £225, Selfridges | Junarose Midi Plisse Skirt, £48, Junarose | Zara Pack of Pearl Bead Hair Clips, £15.99, Zara | Leopard Resin Hair Pins, £0.99, eBay | Principles Gold Plated Pink Barette Hair Clip, £8, Debenhams
Neon is huge at the moment, but it’s definitely not a trend for everyone. It has the potential to look really cheap and nasty. If you’ve been struggling to find a way to try the neon trend, this Pull & Bear skirt looks really stylish. Team it with a black top and add an interesting statement pair of shoes.
Pearl hair clips are also a big ‘thing’ at the moment and I love how they look. I prefer to wear them with jeans and a statement t-shirt rather than a dressier outfit, as it stops them looking too old-fashioned. I’ve bought so many hair clips. I really hope this trend doesn’t disappear anytime soon!
If you follow me on Instagram you’ll know that I love a metallic or a sequin. This dark bronze skirt from Selfridges is stunning. Again, you could dress this up with heels and a strappy too, or down with trainers and a statement tee or a sweatshirt. Such a totally versatile piece to have in your wardrobe this season.
You can see more of what I’m loving, and what I’m doing, over on my Instagram.
